    Field Sales Manager

    The location of this Field Sales Manager will be in the Gauteng South Region of the country and will report directly to the Head of Sales, South Africa

    About The Department

    The Field Sales Manager is a field based person responsible for building the Regional sales capability and for managing the Regional sales team in order to reach and exceed sales targets of the Gauteng South region

    The position

    As a Field Sales Manager you will be responsible for the development and execution of the Sales Plans, targets and budgets in line with the National Sales Strategy in order to achieve the objectives and demands of the business. You will actively participate and thus effectively contribute to conferences, regional and other Novo Nordisk meetings; also will be responsible for collaboration with other field functions, liaising with peers in Marketing, Market access and Clinical, Medical and Regulatory departments, to maximise the sale of Novo Nordisk Products.

    You will evaluate the performance of the sales team through performance KPIs, providing formal feedback on individual performance. You will be responsible for the implementation, coordination and monthly monitoring of performance KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) of Sales Force, ensuring the achievement of the established goals. You will work towards creating an effective and motivated sales team through continuous coaching, training and monitoring. You will be responsible for people development activities of team members for advancement in their careers, aligned to their individual development plan, including succession planning. You will also be responsible for your own career path development.

    Qualifications

    The ideal candidate will have as a minimum, a completed university degree in Science or other related. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and good command of English is required. You must have accumulated at least 5 years of experience in pharmaceutical industry, with at least 3 years’ experience in sales, with previous experience as a Field Sales Manager and experience in people management. Knowledge of sales techniques and of the dynamics of the pharmaceutical market and preparation and evaluation of scenarios; Computer skills (Excel, Word, Power Point)

    Important skills to work in this position are: Analytical skills and strategic vision, Great communication (verbal and written), Good organizational skills, interpersonal relation and teamwork, ability to lead, develop and coach a diverse team.

    About The Department

    Novo Nordisk South Africa is looking to appoint an experienced Key Accounts Manager who will be responsible for influencing and shaping policy on Diabetes portfolio as well as executing the provider strategy for Novo Nordisk brands in a manner that is consistent with operational requirements and upholding the Novo Nordisk Way.

    The base location of this position will be either in Gauteng, KZN or Western Cape in South Africa, and will report directly to the Head of Sales.

    The position

    As a Key Accounts Manager, your key responsibilities will include developing strategy and concise engagement plans with clear objectives and activities to optimise turnover of Novo Nordisk products throughout the supply chain. Engagement plan will require excellence in execution at State tertiary, secondary and primary outlet level to ensure both demand creation and order taking requirements are met. Detailed planning is required to ensure key decision maker mapping and customer lists are aligned to market requirements, including successful tender awards. You will further be responsible for close collaboration with Market Access to develop and deliver value messaging and collaboration with the National Department of Health. This will be required to shape policies to deliver on both current and future company objectives

    Qualifications

    The ideal candidate will hold a relevant bachelor degree,It is preferred that the candidate has a minimum of 3-5 years of sales and marketing experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Knowledge of the Health Care supply chain environment will be considered an advantage. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and good command of English is required, as well computer skills, MSoffice.

    The ideal candidate will also demonstrate ability and passion to influence from a customer centred approach; strong attention to quality and detail; good planning and organisational skills and the agility and willingness to quickly adjust to new situations in a continuously developing environment; ability to engage people with different backgrounds (science, business, etc.) and work within a diverse environment. We are looking for a dynamic high-performer with a strong performance-driven track record who is highly engaged. Additional skills include good decision making and problem-solving skills and excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills and the ability to negotiate. The candidate should also ideally demonstrate a willingness to collaborate with stakeholders and drive their personal development. These attributes coupled with an ability to work under pressure will ensure success in this role.
