Job Description    

Paarden Eiland is currently seeking to appoint a Junior Production Planner with production planning experience in a printing environment, to assist with the preparing and scheduling daily production requirements in close co-operation with all Production Planner. 

Key Duties and Responsibilities    

• Responsible for the daily input and workflow control.
• Optimising the workflow with an understanding of the various printing process capabilities.
• Ensure quality monitoring, control systems, measurements and procedures are in place and adhered to.
• Initiate action on exceptions of all outstanding order and follow up with the various stakeholders as required to manage expectations and enable completion of the work.
• Capture the production plan on MIS production system.
• Ensure workflow planning between various departments.
• Communicate production plans with staff in daily production meetings.
• Confer with established personnel, vendors, distribution companies or customers to coordinate production activities and to resolve complains or eliminate delays.

Educational Requirements    

• Grade 12 certificate or equivalent
• Production Management qualification would be advantageous
• Experience Requirements    
• 1-3 years production planning experience in a printing environment
• Skills and Competencies    
• Knowledge of press production layouts.
• Computer literate and have strong administrative skills.
• Ability to plan and organize under stressful working conditions.
• Exceptional aptitude for problem solving.
• Must be able to think technically or be technically inclined.
• Able to function independently as well as part of a team.
• Sound communication skills

Job Description    

Paarden Eiland is currently seeking to appoint a Reelstand Operator with experience in a printing environment, to ensure the accurate preparation of reels to maintain the desired quality within the time allowed. Provide the correct paper size and grammage. The successful incumbent will report to the Shift Leader: Press.

Key Duties and Responsibilities    

• Ensure correct scanning and loading of correct paper size, brand and grammage and check MIS loaded
• Assist with paper breaks and change over
• Fault finding
• Management of excess paper and prevention of spoilage
• Ensure accurate preparation of reels to maintain desired quality within time tolerance
• Assist on the press when required
• Ensure good housekeeping standards are maintained
• Adherence to safety procedures and operational maintenance

Educational Requirements    

• Matric or equivalent
• Experience Requirements    
• 1-2 years’ experience as a Reelstand Operator
• Exposure to the Press room environment

Skills and Competencies    

• Basic paper and Reelstand knowledge
• The ability to work independently on the assigned responsibilities
• Show initiative to improve the work environment
• Safety consciousness
• Must be able to work fast and accurately
• Flexibility to work shifts, long hours, weekends, overtime and public holidays
• Being medically fit for the working environment
• Excellent time and attendance
