    Relationship Manager- Commercial Banking (Foreshore, Western Cape)

    BUSINESS:

    • Ensure Business Profitability and Growth in conjunction with the Operational Banker through retention, attraction, and expansion of customers in portfolio.
    • Ensure approval of customer’s lending needs are met in conjunction with the Operational Banker through high quality applications.
    • Ensure that portfolio is 100% self-funded through the attraction of correctly priced deposits.
    • Successfully close cross and up-selling opportunities received from Operational Banker and own sources. Distribute further leads to internal business partners.
    • Achieve Non-Interest Revenue targets.

    RELATIONSHIP AND CLIENT FOCUS:

    • Client Engagement by conducting contacted amount of customer visits.
    • Client Satisfaction by ensuring zero valid complaints from customers.
    • Continuously improve turnaround times
    • Ensure no regrettable customer losses.

    RISK FOCUS

    • Ensuring risk metrics stay within set parameters for the portfolio.
    • Support the Operational Banker in all risk related credit issues by ensuring all applicable due diligence on an application is done in accordance to the laid down credit and risk policies and guidelines of the Bank.
    • AML / KYC adherence
    • Market conduct/ customer experience adherence
    • Completion of all compliance training
    • FAIS adherence – general code of conduct

    • Self-development and development identified by manager  
    • Coaching new staff and team involvement

    Academic Knowledge:

    • Relevant degree, FAIS RE5 competent

    Work Experience:

    • Minimum 10 years general banking experience
    • 5 years as Relationship Manager in medium/large segment.

    Head of Core Banking and Business Applications

    Requirements

    Strategic Planning and Leadership:

    • Develop and execute the strategic roadmap for core banking systems and applications in alignment with the bank's overall IT strategy and business goals
    • Provide leadership and direction to the Core Banking and Applications team, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.

    System Management and Optimization:

    • Oversee the implementation, customization, and optimization of core banking applications to meet operational and business needs
    • Ensure the stability, performance, and scalability of core banking systems, proactively identifying and addressing potential issues.

    Project Management and Delivery:

    • Lead and manage projects related to core banking system upgrades, integrations, and new implementations, ensuring timely delivery within scope and budget.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, define project plans, and execute projects effectively.

    Vendor and Stakeholder Management:

    • Manage relationships with external vendors and service providers, negotiating contracts and ensuring adherence to service level agreements (SLAs).
    • Act as a liaison between technical teams and business stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and alignment of objectives.

    Risk Management and Compliance:

    • Ensure core banking systems comply with regulatory requirements and internal policies, addressing any non-compliance issues promptly.
    • Implement and oversee security measures to protect banking applications from cybersecurity threats and data breaches.

    Team Development and Performance:

    • Build and mentor a high-performing team, providing guidance, training, and development opportunities.
    • Conduct regular performance evaluations and foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment.

    Policies and Procedures:

    • Requirements in line with the International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing and the Code of Ethics.
    • Access Bank Policies and Procedures.
    • Group Internal Audit Policies and Procedure manuals.

    People management

    • Coaching and mentoring Junior staff members.
    • Leave management of direct reports.
    • Performance management of direct reports.
    • Active management of poor performers.
    • Ensure measures are in place for business continuity.

    Academic Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred.

    Work Experience

    • Minimum of 10 years of experience in IT management within the banking or financial services industry, with at least 5 years in a leadership role overseeing core banking systems.
    • Proven experience in implementing and managing core banking applications, with a strong understanding of banking operations and regulatory requirements
    • Demonstrated expertise in project management methodologies and tools, with a track record of successful project delivery.
    • Strong knowledge of cybersecurity principles and best practices related to banking applications.
