    Sales Administrator

    Job Description

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Prepare sales quotations and forward to customers.

    SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Ensure timely creation of quotations and professional submission of all information as requested by clients, ensure follow-up.
    • Maintain positive relationships with current and potential clients through timely and professional response to quotation related queries.
    • Correspond with and request quotations from subcontracting laboratories for analysis required falling outside Agri Food Laboratory’s scope of capabilities.
    • Liaise with technical / operations teams to ensure excellent communication channels exist to facilitate the successful handover and execution of new and current business.
    • Maintain awareness and understanding of all the company’s services, ensuring that the full range of the company’s services are presented to new and existing clients to maximize sales opportunities.
    • Forward potential opportunities to other appropriate Business Lines.

    Quality & Health & Safety System

    • Adhere to all quality and safety requirements of the SGS management system.
    • Actively participate in safety related activities.
    • Always wear appropriate protective clothing (where required).
    • Adhere to all relevant HSE procedures and protocols.
    • Keep workplace and equipment neat and tidy.
    • Perform Health and Safety inspections in designated areas
    • Report deviations and communicate instructions to improve and maintain the quality system.

    Specific Authorities

    • Cease the use of any equipment that may be deemed to constitute a safety hazard or entry to hazardous environments without the necessary knowledge and protection, and take action to address the hazard.
    • Cease to carry on with work that may affect the quality (integrity) of services and take action to address the issue.
    • Initiate a formal improvement request when a deviation of the system occurs, possible improvements are identified or when nonconformity is identified.

    Qualifications

    Education

    • Technical diploma / degree – Food science or equivalent an advantage
    • High level of written and verbal English (preferably bilingual English / Afrikaans)
    • Computer literacy in Word, Excel, Outlook

    Experience

    • Experience in related fields an advantage

    Sample Registration Supervisor

    Job Description

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Ensure all Operational Procedures, company code of Ethics and Quality Management systems are adhered to for both Maitland & Centurion sites.

    SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

    Sample handling, storage and disposal

    • Ensure prompt and efficient handling, storage and transport of samples as per documented procedures.
    • Ensure disposal of cancelled samples
    • Ensure prompt registration of all samples
    • Attend to all operational matters related to work in progress at sample reception and new instructions received from customers and OPS / Technical Manager.
    • Liaise with Centralized Billing Team (CBT) regarding any matters arising

    Supervisory responsibilities

    • Extract information, evaluate, review and report on KPI’s
    • Liaise with and respond to internal queries from other departments.
    • Allocation of work
    • Training (technical, quality, safety) as required.

    Customer Liaison

    • Liaise with or the oversight of client’s communication

    • Experience in sample administration and registration for (5 years minimum) in a routine high throughput ISO 17025 Food testing facility.
    • Good communication skills
