    Senior Legal Counsel

    Key Purpose

    • To protect the legal interests of Discovery Green across all facets of its operations and thereby contribute to its ongoing success and growth. 

    Job Summary

    • Discovery Green is seeking a highly experienced and commercially astute Senior Legal Counsel to provide strategic legal support to the renewable energy business for, inter alia, project finance transactions as well as both generator and customer power purchase agreements (“PPAs”). The ideal candidate would possess deep expertise in South African energy law, a solid track record in advising on complex infrastructure projects, and a keen understanding of the regulatory frameworks and stakeholder engagement in the private and public sector.

    Education, Qualifications and Experience

    • Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from a recognised university
    • Admitted Attorney of the High Court of South Africa
    • Minimum of 4 to 8 years post qualification experience
    • Track record in advising on PPAs and project finance deals

    Java Developer (Intermediate)

    Key Purpose

    • Within the Application Platform Services system area, the Java Developer must work together with Business Analyst, UX & Content Teams, System Architect and managers to understand the overall business need and the requirements, design the system solution using various approaches and technologies, implement the designed solution in the system with high quality source codes.

    Senior Data Scientist

    Key Purpose

    • Lead the technical development, testing, and implementation of advanced Large Language Model (LLM) based projects and related technologies to deliver end-to-end data science and AI products within the organization.
    • Work closely with cross-functional teams and business partners to design, build, and deploy scalable solutions that will directly impact staff and customers.
    • Create opportunities that delight our customers by leveraging Discovery’s vast clinical, demographic and operational data.     Areas of responsibility may include but not limited to

    • Lead the design, development, and deployment of LLM - and generative AI-based solutions that address large-scale and complex problems and materially drive the company’s global product offerings and strategy forward.
    • Collaborate with product owners, project managers, and executive stakeholders to identify and prioritize business problems that can be solved with LLMs.
    • Conduct desktop research into the state-of-the-art in LLMs and Generative AI and apply findings to real-world applications (either requested by business or suggested by yourself).

    Content Lead: Insurance

    Key purpose

    • The Content Lead: Insurance is responsible for the content deliverables of Discovery Life and Discovery Insure. The Content Lead combines the creativity and skill of a specialist writer with leadership, organisational and problem-solving abilities to meet the content objectives of each business. Reporting to the Head of Content, the Content Lead oversees the day-to-day content planning, generation and execution of content development. The Content Lead supervises freelance writers, with the responsibility to create compelling thought leadership, brand and social media content for Discovery’s investment, insurance and employee benefit offerings. The Content Lead plays a key role in coordinating, planning and collaborating with various internal, marketing, editorial and project teams to deliver high-quality content for various target audiences and platforms.

    As the Content Lead, responsibilities include the following, but are not limited to:

    • Meeting with editorial and project teams on the various insurance brands, and social media and PR teams to brainstorm and develop content ideas for all media channels

    Key Purpose

    • The vacancy is for a graphic design role within the Discovery Corporate and Employee Benefits business unit. The role requires the Graphic Designer to create visual concepts to communicate, inform and captivate our stakeholders..     Business Lead Finance

    About the role

    • As a Business Lead within the Finance and Commercial team at Vitality, you will be responsible for coordinating the various finance, commercial and project activities, partner relationships and project and analytical reporting within the finance and commercial team space.
    • You will be responsible for understanding and creating the product vision, business case and product and finance specs on allocated initiatives as well as maximizing the value of the product and the work of the Development Team by managing the Product Backlog.
