    Engineering Apprenticeship Programme

    Requirements:

    • Matric with 50% pass for Mathematics and Physical Science
    • N2 to N6 certificate in Electrical or Mechanical (Fitter, HVAC and Millwright) Engineering (indicating the relevant trade theory)
    • Preference will be given to applicants considered as South African Youth (under the age of 35)

    Operator Stores Inventory

    Main Responsibilities (not limited to):

    • Perform efficient stock receiving, receipting and accurate stock issuing.
    • Capture landed costs of foreign deliveries accurately, keep accurate records of landed costs for quick and easy retrieval.
    • Confirm items to be delivered prior to delivery taking place, liaise with suppliers on incorrect deliveries and report it to the Stores Supervisor.
    • Perform accurate stock cycle counts, investigate stock variances and report variances to the Stores Supervisor.
    • Efficiently and effectively operate the relevant IT systems to ensure accurate recording and reconciliation of data (e.g. JDE, DCLink, Symphony).
    • Provide a high standard of personal service to internal clients and external suppliers.
    • Ensure car licences are renewed annually, book fleet vehicles for service & repairs and ensure that the vehicles are taken in.
    • Collect and deliver items and documents for the business unit.
    • Comply with SHE regulations in all activities, safely handle chemicals & hazardous substances and ensure housekeeping principles are strictly adhered to.
    • To safely operate the forklift and ensure that all prescriptions, regulations, and standards are adhered to.

    The Preferred Candidate is likely to have:

    • Grade 12
    • Certificate or Diploma in Stock Control
    • Forklift license.
    • 1 - 2 years’ experience in a stores environment with specific exposure to receipting and issuing stock

    Assistant Production

    Key Responsibilities (not limited to):

    • Accept and inspect product, raw materials from the storage areas and transport these to the applicable production section
    • Ensure that there are sufficient consumables such as platforms and boxes for the production shift
    • Operating the feeder to ensure good quality paper feed into the machine, Troubleshoot and resolve feeder related problems
    • Monitors ink levels, replenish as and when required, perform autonomous maintenance tasks
    • Operating cutting machine for boards, assist with the changeover, make ready, cleaning and stripping of machine
    • Report any deviations in accordance with the company procedures
    • Assist with balancing products daily
    • Adhere to standard operating procedures and work instructions
    • Adhere to housekeeping standards
    • Ensure that safe work practices are adhered to, identify, address, escalate hazards and risks in the workplace
    • To ensure health, safety, environmental, quality regulations and standards are adhered to in line with the legal requirements.
    • Preform ad hoc duties as and when required.

    The Preferred Candidate is likely to have:

    • Grade 12, N3 Engineering or TT3
    • 1 -2 years’ experience in the printing/manufacturing industry will be added advantage

    Operator: Numbering Barrels

    Main Responsibilities (not limited to):

    • Accept product and raw materials from the storage areas and transport these to the applicable production section.
    • Ensure that there are sufficient consumables such as Barrels for the shift.
    • Connects to diagnostic tool to identify problems.
    • Perform Numbering barrel change overs on the Numerota machine.
    • Restore Electrical components on the barrels/boxes.
    • Problem solves barrel failures on the machine.
    • Report any deviations to the senior in the section.
    • Assist with balancing products daily.
    • Adhere to the health, safety and environmental legislation.
    • To ensure that safe work practices are adhered to, to identify, address and escalate hazards and risks in the workplace.
    • Adhere to standard operating procedures and work instructions.
    • To ensure health, safety, environmental, quality regulations and standards are adhered to in line with the legal requirements.
    • Preform ad hoc duties as and when required.

    Qualifications and experience:

    • Grade 12 and N4-N6 Certificate in Electrical or Mechanical engineering or Equivalent
    • 1 – 2 years of experience in a Printing environment
