    National Consultant: Value Added Tax Submissions

    The selected candidate will report to the Quality Assurance Specialist. 

    The Scope of the work includes the following:

    • Downloading documentation (invoices) from VISION
    • Reviewing invoices for compliance with SARS regulations
    • Identifying the corresponding amounts on the CITI Bank statements
    • Printing out the invoices and the statements (for delivery to SARS)
    • Completing the SARS templates for submissions online (SARS e-filing)

    The consultant will also develop an invoice checklist for compliance with SARS regulations with the following outcomes: 

    • Non-compliant invoices are sent back to the suppliers with compliance requirements for reissuance and resubmission
    • Compliant invoices are filed
    • The corresponding amounts on the Citi Bank Statement correlate with compliant invoices
    • Printing and physical submissions to the SARS office
    • SARS e-filing is completed before deadline

    To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have… 

    • A qualification in Administration, Finance, Taxation or any relevant field  
    • A minimum of ten years of relevant professional experience in administration or related field
    • A minimum of 5 years working for UNICEF or a UN agency in South Africa
    • Experience processing VAT input claims for an international organisation
    • Fluency in English is required
    • Knowledge of another local language is an asset

    Consultant: Technical Support on Integrated Management of Acute Malnutrition and Infant and Young Child Nutrition

    The consultant will work in close collaboration with the technical leads from the National Department of Health and UNICEF.

    The assignment will include the following tasks:

    • Supporting NDOH technical lead with the review and finalisation of the IYCF in emergency operational guide for approval and dissemination (40 days).
    • Support the review, revision and finalisation of the revised draft 2025 Infant and Young Child feeding policy and guidelines, including copy-editing the final draft document (40 days).
    • Support the finalisation of capacity building materials for the integrated management of acute malnutrition guideline and the IYCF in emergency guidelines (30 days).
    • Support the roll-out of capacity building of Trainer of trainers’ orientation workshop in nine provinces on the revise integrated management of acute malnutrition guideline and the IYCF in emergency Operational guide (15 days).
    • Provide technical support on the adaptation of existing training package on prevention and management of acute malnutrition for South Africa (15 days).

    Outputs and Deliverables:  

    • Finalised copy-edited IYCF in Emergency Operational Guide
    • Final copy edited revised IYCF Policy and Guidelines
    • Orientation materials including PPT presentations for the orientation workshops on IMAM Guidelines and IYCF-E Operational Guide
    • Nine provincial orientation workshops on IMAM and IYCF-E
    • Adapted training package on IMAM

    To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have… 

    • An advanced university degree (Master’s or higher) in Public Health, Nutirtion, Medicine or related fields  
    • A first University Degree in a relevant field combined with 2 additional years of professional experience may be accepted in lieu of an Advanced University Degree. 
    • A minimum of five years of relevant professional experience in health and child nutrition
    • Proven track record of technical expertise on child nutrition and policy development
    • Technical skills on development of guidelines on child nutrition
    • Proven track record of experience on capacity building of the train the trainers on acute malnutrition and Infant and young child feeding
    • Proven experience on the development of capacity building materials (i.e. manuals, job aids, tools, etc.)
    • Excellent English writing skills
    • Proven track record of experience on working with government counterparts at various levels on acute malnutrition and Infant and young child nutrition
    • Work experience and/or familiarity with emergency is considered an asset
    • Knowledge of another local language is an asset
