    Sales Associate

    • We are looking to appoint a Sales Associate for Morningstar Investment Management South Africa where you will be a member of the South African sales team that leads Morningstar’s sales efforts for our managed portfolio and global fund range in SA to ensure we deliver our market-leading proposition to adviser firms.
    • Working with the Sales team, you will take a collaborative approach to planning and executing sales actively to generate new business from prospects and existing clients. You will also provide pre and post-sales support, to prospective and existing clients, to grow the business and AUM. Your role will entail support across various functions within the sales team with a key focus on technical and client servicing support.

    Responsibilities

    • Lead the onboarding process for all new advisers within the sales team.
    • Assist sales team with pre and post-sales lead generation and support.
    • Assist the sales team with formulating and checking content, presentations, and all adviser resources.
    • Support the sales team through updating and maintaining the pitch pack.
    • Assist clients by running comparisons on Morningstar tools and provide training on all Morningstar tools to clients.
    • Utilise Salesforce.com as a CRM and lead the Salesforce process within the sales team.
    • Assist clients with book reports and transition management into the Morningstar portfolios.
    • Assist the sales team to screen and contact leads.
    • Work with marketing & events to assist with the organising of portfolio report backs, presentations and other events.
    • Assist the sales team in running the monthly sales report.
    • Lead the process of monthly bulk mailers and ensure the website is maintained by uploading content, factsheets, and other resources on an ongoing basis.
    • Develop a strong knowledge of client needs to ensure exceptional client service.
    • Assist the sales team with running client webinars.
    • Work closely with the compliance team to ensure all compliance requirements are communicated to the sales team and to clients.
    • Provide clients with an exceptional and knowledgeable level of product support to make using our services simple and effective.
    • Conduct group and one-on-one meetings to promote the Morningstar Managed Portfolios service and lead the online service offering within the sales team. 
    • Perform special tasks as needed.

    Requirements 

    • Minimum Bcom/equivalent investment or finance-related qualification.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Good investment and product knowledge.
    • Sound knowledge of the financial advice process.
    • Basic understanding of traditional finance, economics, investing and behavioral finance.
    • Comfortable working in a high-performance team environment and the ability to work independently with limited oversight.
    • Impeccable character with high ethical and quality standards.
    • Comfortable working in a quantitative environment and have basic knowledge of investment tools such as Morningstar Direct or willingness to learn.
    • Strong interest and ability to explain portfolio management concepts. 
    • Extreme attention to detail.
    • Meticulous about accuracy, grammar, triple-checking documents, and neatness.
    • Enjoys and takes pride in putting together slides/ sales material.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Powerpoint.
    • Excellent grammar. Good at editing/ checking documents.
    • Serious about providing excellent and efficient client service and a love for working with clients.

    Associate Director of Marketing

    • We’re looking for an Associate Director of Marketing to take responsibility for investment management marketing across the EMEA region, as well as a leadership role in the South African business.
    • In this role, you’ll be responsible for the full marketing lifecycle, from strategy to execution. You'll need to be audience-focused and understand the key trends and challenges faced by financial advisors today. Your main goal will be to empower advisors throughout EMEA by developing and implementing a high-impact, go-to-market plan with messaging that truly resonates.

    Portfolio Manager

    The Role

    • We are looking for a Portfolio Manager to join our Multi Asset Portfolio Management team. You will contribute to the success of our multi-asset strategies by having dedicated portfolio and risk management responsibilities across South African model and platform-based portfolios. You will also be involved in asset allocation, manager research and selection, portfolio implementation, performance attribution, trading and client reporting. These activities are typically undertaken as part of a small team with a shared responsibility for the outcome. Alongside these varied daily activities, you will contribute to longer term projects as we continually improve our investment methodologies and processes. A passion for investing, intellectual curiosity and a commitment to our mission are essential for this role, alongside the knowledge, experience, skills and character necessary to be comfortable as part of a high-performance team. The role that will report into the Head of Investments for MIM SA.

    Responsibilities

    • Manage the local South African multi-asset model portfolios across both constrained and unconstrained portfolios.
    • Build and maintain target risk asset allocations using guidelines without supervision to deliver superior risk-adjusted returns.
    • Propose new portfolio construction techniques, strategies and tools while supervising and mentoring others in asset allocation and portfolio construction.
    • Contribute to the manager research and selection process by maintaining coverage of assigned buy and approved lists, identifying lagging positions and engaging with internal and external stakeholders to mitigate potential risks.
    • Participate as a dedicated member of SA and EMEA investment and governance committee structure.
    • Mentor team members in areas such as portfolio and risk management, capital markets, investment strategies, and decision-making

    Qualifications

    • Undergraduate degree in Mathematics / Statistics / Finance / Economics with advanced post-graduate, MBA or CFA strongly preferred.
    • A minimum of 7 years of tangible investment experience with dedicated responsibilities across portfolio management and investment research.
    • A commitment to long-term, valuation-driven investing and deep fundamental research.
    • A demonstrable track record for applying knowledge of capital markets, investment strategies, and alternative investments to deliver superior risk-adjusted returns.
    • Comfortable working in a high-performance environment with a desire for continuous learning.

    Implementation Specialist

    About the Role:

    • Morningstar Investment Management South Africa is seeking a highly motivated Implementation Specialist to join our investment operations team. This role is instrumental in overseeing new product launches, client onboarding, coordinating seamless client and portfolio transitions, change requests and lead process and governance improvements. This is a dynamic, high-impact position requiring strong investment knowledge, excellent project management skills, and the ability to work effectively with both internal and external stakeholders. This position is based in our Cape Town office and reports to the Head of Operations, South Africa.

    Required Experience:

    Required Qualifications:
