    In Service Trainee - Engineering

    MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Complete all learnership requirements as stipulated by Unilever, including but limited to training attendance, assessments completion, project completion, logbook completion and presentations as needed

    Millwright Artisan

    MAIN JOB PURPOSE:  

    To provide multidisciplinary engineering and operations to skills to ensure general maintenance within specific unit of responsibility within prescribed guidelines.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

    • Undertakes all non-specialized maintenance within specific unit of responsibility within definition
    • Coaches and develops the engineering skills of other maintenance and operational staff
    • Makes recommendation for continuous improvement
    • Involved in WCM and Run to Standard activities. Works within defined Engineering and SHE Policies and Standards
    • Engineering: Diagnoses and interprets problems (fault finding) to optimize production output and with own team carries out the plant repairs
    • Ensures that service levels are maintained at the required standards by carrying out all breakdown, preventative and predictive maintenance effectively
    • Drive breakdown reductions off analyzing breakdowns, complying with the PPM requirement and implementing Continuous improvements
    • Participates in strategic engineering plans to deliver maintenance and breakdown reduction benefits (RCM)
    • Identifies the major engineering losses in his area and investigates using Kaizen problem solving methodology. (Fishbone, 5 Why etc.)
    • Ensures that Company safety rules and regulations are adhered and maintaining Unilever safety and 5S standards
    • Draws up, Coaches and develops engineering skills to other maintenance and operational staff using OPL and SOP’s

    KEY REQUIREMENTS

    • N3 AND Trade Test Mechanical/ Electrical /Instrumental/ Millwright
    • 3 years Millwright experience in FMCG and Manufacturing
    • Experience on high-speed packaging machinery will be an advantage
    • Experience on Rotary Fillers will be an advantage
    • Must have a valid driver’s license and be flexible within pattern of shift work to accommodate factory shutdowns, training courses etc. and emergency cover

    Occupational Health Nurse BB

    Primary Purpose of the Role

    • To provide comprehensive occupational health services for the protection and promotion of total physical, mental and social wellbeing of all employees.

    Major Responsibilities

    Primary Health Care

    • Promotes, supervises, performs prompt and effective medical assistance to employees in acute and chronic situations
    • Responds to emergencies

    Occupational Health Care

    Pre-placement Medicals

    • Conduct pre-placement medicals to manage any liability to the company and to prevent illness/injury to employees and colleagues

    Periodic Medicals

    • Plan and conduct programme for biological monitoring, exit medicals, retirement medicals and ill health retirement medicals
    • Monitor potentially harmful chemical usage
    • Evaluate, document and report potential hazards
    • Make recommendation on health matters to Management

    Injuries on Duty

    • Take full ownership of and implement policy and procedure for IOD
    • Administer First Aid and secondary treatment
    • Advise management on preventative and/or corrective action by investigating causes, frequency of injuries as well as implement preventative measures
    • Prevent “Lost Time” for employee and the company by treating IOD promptly
    • Facilitate rehabilitation

    Education

    • Educate employees on health related topics, including chronic illnesses and primary healthcare in Site Comms, formal / informal groups and / or on a one-on-one basis
    • Plan and schedule First Aid and HIV/Aids training sessions in conjunction with the SHE & Training Departments
    • Communicate Policy changes and any new developments in Occupational Health
    • Advise Leadership / Line Managers / Departments (e.g. SHE) on Equipment Safety
    • Present to Management on general matters affecting the safety and health of employees at work, in the workplace and how risks can be mitigated

    Administration

    • Implement Unilever health care policies and procedures
    • Manage health service provision for Site
    • Share daily, weekly and monthly reports, as required by Site HRBP and monthly reports as stipulated by Health Services Co-Ordinator
    • Represent Health Services at meetings
    • Communicates appropriate information to First Line Managers, Leadership and HR (e.g. Fit to work documentation)
    • Maintain employee records
    • Purchase and replenish medical supplies
    • Ensure legislative compliance
    • Maintain open communication lines with first line managers, HR and leadership
    • Maintenance of accurate and up to date medical records and or reports to track employee health/illness and provide the company with the required data, in line with the employee’s right to confidentiality and POPI Act

    Research

    • Investigate illness / injury incidents and trends to determine health and safety needs and communicating this information to stakeholders for the development and implementation of relevant safety programmes
    • Evaluate findings of periodic medicals and provide insight to HR
    • Assessment of ‘Employee Risk Factor report’
    • Investigate employee complaints regarding health and safety at work, share findings and resolution actions to HR
    • Representation to management or safety committee in matters relating to work

    Medical Surveillance Programmes:

    • Schedule, conduct and record checks on employees with chronic illness
    • Run serology & coordinate Enzyme audits for SiteRehabilitation
    • Evaluate performance/progress, counsel and coach if necessary
    • Monitor progress and co-ordinate community health services for rehabilitation purposes

    Assistant Brand Manager

    Responsibilities

    This is a local marketing role and the Job entails the following responsibilities:

    Innovation & Renovation

    Support the marketing manager in the development of the Strategy, and innovation roadmap within the category plan guidelines, to meet business goals and build brand equity. Leads innovation projects or clearly defined sections of a gold project with minimum supervision by the marketing manager and leads/participates in various cross-functional teams. Brand Teams and externally with local support agencies such as Creative, Design, PR, sponsorship, activation and channel. Uncover consumer insights, opportunities within Southern Africa, framing and scoping into business and the development of regional innovation (including packaging) and communication programmes working closely with the CMI team, agencies and other functional teams ie. supply chain, and finance to ensure excellent delivery and implementation. Develop and Deploy integrated communication. Work with the multifunctional team to implement the plan in the marketplace and monitor the performance and progress of the support plans and act. Build productive working relationships with in-market country functions: Customer Development, CMI, category team, Finance and Supply Chain to manage the brand plans and innovations

    Brand Marketing Plans (BMPs)

    Assists in the translation of the Brand Vision Plan into the BMP by ensuring the Brand Builders have everything they need to deliver an aligned BMP. Customise the mixes for each country, leveraging synergies and local insight and delivering country-specific toolkits  Support the marketing team with expertise and best practices to unlock brand operational and in-market challenges including monitoring of brand performance on a monthly and quarterly basis. Budget management of approx. R15m.

    Key Relationships/Teams

    Works closely with local teams in the deployment of brand communication ideas for local markets and channels. Work closely with cross-functional innovation teams (using IPM tools to support decision making and communication) including local teams, supply chain and customer and category development in the region to ensure successful/flawless implementation Assist in working with agencies to deliver strategically sound messages in line with communication strategy.

    Data Engineer

    We are looking for a passionate Senior Data Engineer, who enjoys optimising data systems and building them from the ground up, to join the Data Analytics team.

    MAIN JOB PURPOSE:

    Senior Data Engineer will provide technical data leadership in our Data Analytics team. You will be responsible for creating, expanding, optimising and managing our data depositary warehouse and data pipeline architecture, as well as optimising data flow and collection. This role will support our data initiatives and will ensure optimal data delivery architecture is consistent throughout the organisation and ongoing projects.

    Main accountabilities:

    • Be the expert in UL Data, current and future
    • Create and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture to balance performance and cost
    • Assemble large, complex data sets that meet functional / non-functional business requirements.
    • Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, refactoring current architecture, data governance inc. lineage, catalog and quality.
    • Build the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources using SQL, Data Warehousing, PySpark/Spark, Python and Cloud technologies.
    • Work with software engineering best practices such as version control, continuous integration and test-driven development including Azure Dev Ops and Git.
    • Work with MS Azure including Databricks (Pyspark and Delta Lake), Data Factory, Dev Ops, ADLS, Blob Storage and Power BI Datasets
    • Use of advanced SQL skills and an understanding of query and storage optimisation
    • Ensure that deliverables meet or exceed functional, technical and performance requirements
    • Contribute to the development of your own and team’s technical acumen
    • Continuous learning of new tools & technologies via external sources that brings direct value to the business

    CMI Engagement Specialist Home Care

    JOB SUMMARY

    • Support in consumer insight into communication deployment, innovation deployment, NRM, performance / brand tracking, 6Ps, IBP etc.
    • Working with continuous research data (retail and consumer panel, brand tracking) to provide in market performance
    • Support local consumer connection programmes that create growth insights for brands and categories.
