    Portfolio Manager

    Brief Description       

    • To direct and assume responsibility for production and maintenance of business from new and existing source, to ensure profitability and growth of the company and to provide excellent service to and relationship maintenance with intermediaries
    • Please note that this is a Role Size “M”

    Detailed Description       

    • To effectively drive and deliver on the segmented model portfolio thus ensuring performance targets are achieved in line with the Old Mutual Insure business strategy.
    • Develop optimum relationships with intermediaries and internal role players.
    • Ensure continuous strategic and business alignment between intermediary and Old Mutual Insure.
    • Manage allocated portfolio wrt growth, retention, profitability and any other business relevant factors.
    • Ensure positive relationships are built and maintained and excellent customer service is provided to various role players (internal and external).
    • Ensure relevant feedback, information and reports are prepared, submitted and presented to various stakeholders on all aspects of growth and profitability.
    • Deliver optimal customer experience, quality of service and achievement of personal targets.
    • Identify and develop sales opportunities.
    • Ensure a consistent and detailed understanding of the sales targets, goals, performance levels, products, business rules and conditions.
    • Identify and drive the cost to serve model with relevance to allocated broker segment.
    • Identify and drive opportunities to improve and enhance product and service offerings.
    • Ensure a consistent detailed understanding amongst brokers of their growth targets, goals, performance levels and available products.
    • Resolve customer complaints and queries where necessary.
    • Keep abreast of market conditions and trends and relevant industry regulations.
    • Management of main critical focus areas on balance sheet.
    • Display and deeper understanding of and ability to market effectively all aspects of the business, including UMAs, and Specialist Insurance.
    • Optimal use of business tools, such as SFA, BI, CRM on demand to drive relevant business imperatives.
    • Control DMA within portfolio.
    • Drive increased utilisation of mf online and any other self-service platforms.
    • Effective participation in any relevant industry related functions or forums.

    Job Requirements       

    • Grade 12
    • NQF Level 4 insurance qualification would be advantageous
    • Valid driver’s license
    • 2 - 3 years commercial underwriting experience
    • Minimum of 2 years insurance sales/marketing experience, but 3 – 5 years preferable
    • Ability to handle large size and complex accounts
    • Computer literate

    Group Scheme Analyst

    Detailed Description

    Analysis Of Scheme In Terms Of PPM

    Identify policies within a scheme that require action in terms of PPM category which includes

    • Increase at renewals
    • Once of increases as per PPM methodology
    • Multi claimant action
    • Post loss action

    Monthly monitoring PPM actions / audits of actions

    Maintain data of schemes at policy level in format provided

    Maintain legal contracting relationship

    Ensure all binders have been signed and updated/maintained via the CMS System

    Ensure all deliverables in terms of the binder agreement have been received, verify fee register.

     Where necessary ensure that fee’s are recouped/recovered/ adjusted for non performance by schemes administrator/broker.

    Provide financial insights and commentory to management for portfolio

    Engage with all portfolio team member to provide feedback/communicating in terms of;

    • New business for the month , placed on cover.
    • Renewals-->volumes of renewals + increases/received premiums
    • Cancelled business.
    • Profitability relating to the claims experience; commission motor nonsplit and management fee.
    • Volume metric: # of policies avg premium.

    Non financial commentary/feedback of schemes with the portfolio ie. status of contracts; performance in terms of binder; scheme business plan.

    Job Requirements

    • Grade 12
    • Appropriate Insurance Qualification
    • 2 -3 years in Short term Insurance
    • Computer literate

    Experience In Group Scemes Would Be a Benefit.
