Job Purpose

This role is responsible for transforming the organisation into a business that truly differentiates and competes on data and analytics by managing the design, delivery and maintenance of data that provides business with the relevant insights that enable improved business decision making across all key parts of the value chain.

Job Responsibilities

• Oversee the delivery of data solutions and insights.
• Oversee data sourcing, data models and data mining activities to support data strategy and governance initiatives.
• Contribute to data integrity and cleansing activities required to increase the quality of data within the organisation.
• Elicit business requirements to uncover data opportunities, functionality, and processes required in order to recommend the appropriate solution.
• Provide frameworks to best identify, understand, and interpret data structures across various databases within the business to facilitate data analysis and continous monitoring actitivies.
• Work with line management to develop quick win strategy and longer term operational requirements.
• Make and validate recommendations based on cost and feasibility.
• Deliver work products according to the agreed time lines and within agreed budget.
• Deliver proof of concepts to customers and obtain the necessary sign-off.
• Communicate new features to stakeholders through forums.
• Contribute to a culture conducive to the achievement of transformation goals by participating in Nedbank Culture building initiatives (e.g. staff surveys etc.).
• Participate and support corporate responsibility initiatives for the achievement of business strategy (e.g. Green Strategy).
• Seek opportunities to improve business processes and systems by identifying and recommending effective ways to operate and adding value to Nedbank.
• Participate in research that will enable recommendations related to system software.

Qualifications:

• Matric / Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate
• B.Degree in IT
• DATA certification

Experience Level

• 7 to 10 years Information Techonology experience, of which 5 - 7 years in data related experience.

Job Purpose

To support and maintain the data warehouse in line with the data model; metadata repository and to provide business intelligence analysis through performing strategic and operational support.

Job Responsibilities

• Structure data into compliance standards by adhering to metadata governance procedures according to Nedbank documented standards and formats.
• Manage final transformed data content by complying to prescribed standards for reviewing and publishing.
• Assist/govern population of datamart and metadata repository by complying to standards; systems; processes and procedures.
• Support business units by providing consulting services that delivers data and information relevant to their business.
• Contribute to internal/external information sharing sessions by attending formal and informal meetings.
• Manage vendor relationship interactions by conforming to vendor management office guidelines and principles.
• Identify and recommend opportunities to enhance processes; systems and policies and support implementation of new processes; policies and systems.
• Deliver work according to customer expectations by prioritizing; planning and implementing requirements.
• Utilize resources by adhering to standards; policies and procedures.
• Align and continuously improve set processes by identifying innovation opportunities.
• Identify and mitigate risk by executing within governance.
• Resolve incidents by logging and tracking through correct channels Keep abreast of legislation and other industry changes that impacts on role by reading the relevant newsletters; websites and attending sessions.

Minimum Experience Level:

• 3-5 years experience is in a data management / business role.

Qualifications:

• Diploma / Degree in Information Technology or Business Management, Mathematical/Statistics
• Data Management (DAMA) Certification.

Job Purpose

To develop high level end to end design and Macro design in the context of the high level solution architecture to realise the business requirements. To perform consulting services to find suitable solutions tovarious business requirements with in conceptual environment.

Job Responsibilities

• Analysing of business requirement to plan system and configuration changes, providing system capabilities required for the development and installation of new systems or modification of existing systems. This includes systems like TCS Bancs, Mapper, Onbase Teleform etc.
• Manage the full lifecyle of development and configuration changes from requirements to analysis and documentation to configuring the systems to implementation and migration support.
• Provide input to Nedbank Insurance system capability investigations and provide consulting to Nedbank Insurance during feasibility investigations.
• Consult to clients and provide guidance on the delivering hardware, software and firmware support accross domains (including production environments).
• Evaluate factors such as number of departments to be serviced, reporting formats, volume of transactions, time requirements, cost constraints and the need for security and access to the affected system. Seek opportunities to improve business processes and system. Participate in research that will enable recommendations related to the system software.
• In need this role will also develop/configure on various systems of Nedbank Insurance.
• Have a firm understanding of different database models and technologies.
• Understand T-SQL queries, analyse these and implement performance enhancements.
• Stay abreast of development in field of expertise, ensuring personal and professional growth.
• Make and validate recommendation based on cost and usability (feasibility) on enterprise wide projects.
• Deliver work products per the agreed times lines and within agreed budget.
• Deliver proof of concepts to clients and obtain the necessary sign-off.
• Create systems impact documentation for larger, more complex/enterprise wide projects that cross systems. Identify project dependencies and possible conflict and manage these to resolution (enterprise wide).
• Participate in design forums to approve designes and validate recommended software technologies.
• Participate in problem solving. Support the achievement of the business strategy, objectives and values.

Minimum Experience Level:

• More than 8 years Information Technology experience of which 3 -  5 years experience is in Proramming and Analysis.
• SQL or Oracle experience (non-negotiable)

Qualifications:

• Degree in Information Technology (non-negotiable)
