    Factory Maintenance Engineer - Mosselbay

    We’re now looking for a Factory Maintenance Engineer to join our team at Mossel Bay.

    In this role you will be responsible for supporting and participating in the implementation and execution of the factory asset maintenance program aimed to eliminate unplanned stops and optimize maintenance cost and as a result increase asset intensity.

    A day in the life of a Factory Maintenance Engineer:

    Manage existing assets - Planned maintenance:

    • Actively participate in maintenance routines to ensure that maintenance activities are scheduled and executed in time with high quality.
    • Support and participate in the implementation maintenance methodologies (Preventative Maintenance pillar, foundations), usually member of Preventative Maintenance pillar.
    • Master and coach breakdown analysis.
    • Responsible to ensure effective utilization of Asset Maintenance Management system.

    Manage existing assets - Budget management:

    • Provide input for annual maintenance budget. Assist with the reporting and tracking of the maintenance budget. Analyze over/under spending in the area of responsibility and propose corrective actions.

    Build Engineering Capability:

    • Support and participate in the competence building plan (CBP) for the maintenance team.
    • Build up maintenance methodologies competencies within Engineering, on the topics from Roles and Responsibilities matrix.
    • Assist with the technical training program for all factory maintenance staff.
    • Build up Asset Maintenance Management competencies within Engineering.

    Manage existing assets - Production support:

    • Support the implementation Asset Maintenance pillar methodologies.
    • Support production to eliminate quality defects, safety risks and chronic technical issues.

    Define and adhere to standards:

    • Support and participate in implementation of applicable standards.
    • Ensure adherence to applicable standards in the area of responsibility.

    What will make you successful?

    • Engineering Degree or Technical college degree (e.g., mechanical, electrical)
    • 5 years’ experience in engineering management (plant maintenance, machinery and processing equipment and packaging equipment) preferably in FMCG related manufacturing environment (dairy factory)  
    • 2 years’ leadership experience important
    • Experience working in multifunctional team (i.e., capital projects, DMAIC) preferred.
    • Good knowledge of Total Productivity Maintenance
    • Good knowledge of Asset maintenance
    • Good knowledge of Asset Maintenance Management system (SAP PM module)
    • Nestlé Engineering organization and Roadmap
    • Knowledge of Total Productivity Maintenance methodology is preferred

    Packaging Operator-Estcourt

    Position Summary

    • We are now looking for a Packaging Operator to be based in Estcourt Factory.
    •  In this role you will be responsible for operating one or more Basic Packaging Machines to ensure the smooth running of the packing lines and good quality products are packed. This will include all the machines listed under functional skills.

    A day in the life of a Packaging Operator:

    • Operating the Filling machine at optimum level during his/her shift assuring Product quality & compliance to safety & Environment policies.                            
    • Operating the dry mix equipment at optimum level during his/her shift assuring Product quality & compliance with safety & Environment policies.                  
    • Attending to the Clinching process at optimum level assuring product quality & compliance with safety & environmental policies                                                         
    • Participate in TPM activities (i.e. AWG members).
    • Update of all tasks as well as participation in Mission Directed Work Teams (MDWT)                                                         
    • Responsible for the hygiene and housekeeping of the work area                                                          
    • Operates lines and monitors/records operational parameters and initiates corrective action.
    • Perform in-line quality checks as defined by the NQS/QMS & initiate corrective action            
    • Report unsafe conditions and practices to the Team Leader                                                   
    • Perform other duties assigned by the Team Leader                                                    
    • Ensure all cleaning, lubrication, inspections and minor adjustments of all equipment under his/her responsibility                                                
    • Monitor condition of equipment and make necessary interventions to prevent failures in coordination with technical support team                             
    • Observe equipment operation during normal operating cycle: Identify potential problems & communicate problems which cannot be remedied to appropriate production and maintenance personne                   

    What will make you successful?

    • Grade 12/Matric Certificate completed
    • 3 years in a packaging within a food manufacturing environment
    • Understanding the flow of operations associated with the responsibilities of the position  
    • Understanding and applying the basic Nestle Hygiene and Safety requirements (NGMP, QMS, BBS, “5S”)  
    • Basic Computer Literacy
    • Must be in Possession of a valid Forklift License
    • SAP Data capturing competencies (Material consumptions)

    Assistant Finance Business Unit Controller (Dairy)

    Position Summary

    • Working as an Assistant BU Controller you will be responsible for providing insight and strongly support a fact-based decision-making process, based on current business environment & specialist financial knowledge and by challenging new strategies & new projects, as well as the status quo.

    A day in the life an Assistant BU Controller:

    • MEP - Assist BU Controller in all aspects of the strategy development process and provide associated scenario planning to optimize shareholder value.
    • Work closely with corporate costing and corporate control in order to provide high quality data / timely framework, as well as the reliable measurement of selected key KPI's.
    • Ensure quality financial information is provided to the BU Controller for decision making and that potential risks and opportunities are highlighted and understood.
    • With the BU Controller, review monthly performance and identify areas of risk to achievement of targets and forecasts and develop/follow up action plans (this includes but not limited to MOGE updates, PFME tracking, Trade Asset Management and COGS analysis).
    • Together with the BU Controller play a reading role in the Monthly Business Planning Process (esp. MSR & CDF), providing transparency and direction towards target achievement at any time in the process. Assist with facilitation of the MB/DF process for the BU.
    • Together with the BU Controller, prepare all Trade Asset CAPEX request files
    • Analyze and challenge factory monthly performance based on key indicators (variances, level of fixed cost, etc.)
    • Assist BU Controller by providing up to date data to analyze and challenge product portfolio to identify cost optimization opportunities, eliminate Value Destroyers and maximize the return on investment from TTS/PFME (including revised pricing structure/prices)
    • Support BU in the NPDI process by ensuring selling price calculations and business plans are prepared on time and reviewed with the BU Controller.
    • Assist BU Controller with special projects and ad hoc studies: M&A, Sourcing, Restructuring

     What will make you successful?

    • CIMA or CA preferred
    • An Accounting / Finance Commercial Degree
    • 3  years or more experience within FMCG
    • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in reporting, consolidation and financial analysis
    • Computer literacy (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
    • Strong analysis skills and synthesizing of data
    • Strong SAP Knowledge
    • Must be detail oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills
    • Ability to work well with cross functional teams in a  fast paced, dynamic environment
    • Strong commercial experience within a trade
    • Confident communication and presentation skills
    • Financial awareness of Return on Investment
