Purpose Statement

• Provide guidance to self-organising feature teams to operate effectively within the bank by:
  • Ensuring the optimal use/application of Agile/Scrum practices and tools, and
  • Driving the continuous improvement and Agile maturity of the feature teams during the facilitation of Agile ceremonies (including sprint planning, stand-up, retrospective, review)

Experience

• At lease 3 years' experience as Scrum Master
• Proven experience in the application of one or more of the following:
  • Agile Values and Principles
  • Scrum principles, practices, theory
  • Kanban principles, practices, theory
  • Agile techniques (i.e. User Stories, ATDD (Acceptance Test Driven Development), TDD (Test Driven Development, Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, Pair Programming, Automated Testing)
  • Configuration Tools (i.e. JIRA, Confluence, etc.)
• Proven experience as part of an Agile software delivery team in one or more of the following roles would be ideal:
  • Project / Programme Management
  • Business Analyst
  • Architect
  • Software Development
  • Product Owner

Qualifications (Minimum)

• National Certificate in Grade 12 National Certificate
• Certification in Scrum or Kanban (CSM, KMP, PSM I)

Knowledge

Must have detailed knowledge of:

• Documented patterns and techniques related to the Scrum approach (i.e. Planning, Reviews and Retrospective formats, removal of impediments and handling of bugs, etc.)
• Group facilitation approaches (i.e conflict resolution, effective team work, etc.)
• Experience in applying Agile methodologies i.e. Scrum, Lean and Kanban
• Agile techniques: User Stories, ATDD, TDD, Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, Pairing, Automated Testing, Agile Games
• Must have in-depth understanding of all the Agile values and principles as well as roles in order to work well together with the team and stakeholders
• Good knowledge of servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparency

Purpose of the role:

• The Data Steward will provide expert advice and guidance on data, both externally and internally, and will be proactive in improving its management and maximising its potential.
• Provide effective control, stewardship, and management of Capitec Bank data assets. Provide assistance to business users with high quality data and metadata that is fit for purpose and easily accessible. This improves the value and quality of information, decreasing the costs associated with non-quality information.
• Defining, measuring and monitoring quality and coverage, to ensure the data and metadata meets agreed standards, and conforms to policy/data guidelines throughout the data journey of collection, storage, and sharing.

Qualifications:

• A relevant tertiary qualification in Information Management, Computer Science, Business, Engineering, Mathematics, Auditing, or a related field

Experience:

• 5 years' proven years' experience in Data Governance, Metadata Management, data cataloguing and data lineage.
• Exposure to Data Governance or Data Management tools (such as Informatica, Collibra, Data360, etc.)
• Knowledge and understanding of data governance challenges and best practices for metadata, data quality, and data stewardship.
• Experience developing business process flows, data standards and definitions
• Experience handling sensitive data (PCI and PII).

Knowledge:

• Conducting, assessing or governing data classification, records management or data disposal processes
• Industry leading data governance and management practices
• Data visualisation of Data Governance and management KPIs
• Agile development life cycle
• Exposure to query/database language
• Expert experience in liaising with key stakeholders to improve process efficiencies and improve overall satisfaction of internal customers.
• Demonstrated skill in managing business priorities while driving process improvements and data quality enhancements

Desired Skills and Experience

Experience of electronic channel management (in areas such as POS and ATM's; SST etc.) will be advantageous

Experience

• 3- 5 years' proven experience in software development

• Javascript/ NodeJS

Ideal:

• Software development experience on a Cloud environment
