    Senior Technologist - Architecture (DATA Centres)

    Job Description

    Here is what you will be doing:

    • The Senior Technologist serves as a capable professional in an architectural design team, leading work on specific elements of a project with minimal direction and supervision of a Senior Architect or designated senior team members.  
    • Architectural Design
    • BIM Model and Drawing production (Design Brief compliance, completeness & accuracy) 
    • Design co-ordination (within Architecture & Cross Discipline)
    • Performing basic architectural/engineering calculations.
    • Preparing specifications, reports and related data tables.
    • Maintaining liaison with design and drafting groups.
    • Preparing, reviewing, and approving drawings as required.
    • Under some supervision, may complete design assignments of moderate to high complexity.
    • Limited familiarity with codes, permits, and software applications related to the discipline.
    • Introduced to the process of preparing designs and drawings using project specifications and discipline-associated written and verbal instructions in accordance with established design practices, standards and procedures.
    • Intermediate to advanced understanding of the purpose and use of vendor documents. 
    • Introduced to the process of performing material take-offs for the discipline.

    Qualifications

    Technologist - Mechanical (DATA Centres)

    Job Description

    Here is what you will be doing:

    • Contributes within specific domains of the field.
    • Develops an awareness of standard practices, techniques, and procedures under supervision.
    • Researches alternate solutions and design options in support of the project team, e.g. white paper research, code review.
    • Provides analysis to support development of design ideas and solutions.
    • Communicates and collaborates with full design team and others.
    • Supports and assist the development of work products such as specifications, drawings, and illustrative graphics.
    • Follows specific, detail instructions and set of technical approach for design. 
    • Develops details, edit specific and an awareness of QMS procedures.
    • May support, modify and customize a senior designer or an architect designer, or a more senior-level architect in executing others’ design and vision.  
    • Assists in preparation of designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings and working drawings.

    Qualifications

    • BTech Degree (Mechanical Engineering)
    • 4+ Years' experience after obtainment of Qualification specifically in the Built Environment
    • Experience in all three of the main mechanical engineering disciplines (HVAC, Wet Services & Fire) will be advantageous

    Senior BIM Modeller - Mechanical (DATA Centres)

    Job Description

    Here's what you will be doing:

    BIM execution of all Mechanical Building Services disciplines including HVAC, Wet Services, Process, Fire:

    • Is expected to be proficient in Revit modelling within all above-mentioned Mechanical Building Services
    • Is expected to be proficient in the NavisWorks environment and running clash detection and performing interdisciplinary (Architecture, Structural, Electrical etc) coordination
    • Perform BIM upskilling of resources
    • Assist BIM Manager with content creation and standard enforcement
    • Perform Level 3 QA/QC checks on discipline models
    • Able to work with minimal supervision, efficiently schedule and manage time
    • Ability to read and understand construction documents
    • Familiar with design parameters related to discipline specific requirements
    • Knowledge of AECOM standard modelling practices and procedures

    • General knowledge of integrated architectural and engineering practice
    • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (i.e., Word, Excel, and Outlook)

    Senior BIM Modeller - Highways

    Job Description

    • Here is what you will be doing:
    • As a Senior BIM Modeller, you will be assisting the Design Engineers and the broader team in producing Highways/ Roads models and drawings for international and/or local projects.


    Technical Excellence:

    • Develops 3D models drawings, sketches, diagrams with accuracy to the design instruction under the supervision of an experienced Engineer (Civil 3D and/or OpenRoads).
    • Ensures high-quality drawing outputs in Civil 3D and/or OpenRoads under project timelines and budget.
    • When required, collects and analyses information from specific discipline and interdisciplinary project BIM models.
    • Participates in design progress and coordination meetings.
    • Actively seeks information, opportunities to participate and contribute, and develops efficiencies and effectiveness.
    • Work will be a mixture of local and international work but likely predominantly international.


    Job Summary:

    • Creates 3D models, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
    • Collects and analyzes data under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
    • Uses computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems.
    • Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule under supervision.

    Qualifications

    Here is what we are looking for:

    • Draughting Certificate required
    • NDip would be advantageous
    • 8 years’ experience within the built environment (particularly highways) as a Modeller
    • Primary competence required with AutoCAD and Civil 3D and/or MicroStation and OpenRoads

    CAD Draughtsperson - Highways

    Job Description

    • Here are is what you will be doing:
    • The CAD Draughtsperson performs complex BIM or Plant Data Centric assignments involving the use of multiple application platforms, such as Civil 3D, CAD, Intergraph, SmartPlant, Plant 3D, etc. software, to achieve set results and deadlines.

    Duties:

    Engineer - Transport Planning

    Job Description

    Here is what you will be doing:

    • As an Engineer in our Transportation Planning and Traffic Engineering Team, you will be responsible for undertaking specialised analysis and developing traffic / transportation designs on a diverse array of infrastructure projects. These projects will encompass major roads, public transport systems, non-motorized transport, railway corridors, ports and harbours, as well as urban developments across Africa and beyond. The successful candidate will be based in Cape Town, Durban, or Centurion, South Africa.

    Technical Excellence:

    • Contributes to the development of technical proposals.
    • Develops design by gathering, correlating and analysing engineering data using computer software and established procedures and standards.
    • When possible, collects and analyses information from discipline and interdisciplinary project models.
    • Fully develops the design content by applying both design and technical knowledge to ensure the production of high-quality outputs by following project timelines.
    • Participates in the interdisciplinary reviews of project deliverables.
    • Works on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations, specifications, sketches, diagrams, specific discipline models, drawings, reports and tender documents.
    • Identifies discrepancies in results and proposes an approach to solving new problems encountered.
    • Performs work under the agreed-upon budget and schedule with moderate supervision.
    • Coordinates with other Engineers as applicable for the design process's continuity.
    • Maintains and develops the highest level of technical skills and abilities, ensuring the quality of production for accuracy to design instructions. Coordinates with authorities for scheme approvals.                                                                  

    Client Relationship Management:

    • Begins to participate in client meetings to discuss project requirements, explain/defend work, etc.
    • Participates in the development and preparation of bids and proposals 

    Qualifications

    Here is what we are looking for:

    • 4+ Years' experience after obtainment of Qualification
    • Bachelor or Master of Science or Engineering from an accredited University.
    • Master of Science or Engineering advantageous.
    • Registered as a Candidate Engineer with ECSA.
    • Proven experience in transportation planning studies, traffic analysis and modelling, as well as the design of transportation and traffic infrastructure.
    • Familiarity with transport modelling software (e.g., PTV, SIDRA, Synchro) and GIS applications is advantageous.
    • Strong analytical skills with a demonstrated ability to interpret data and effectively present findings.

    • B-Tech degree in built environment field of study with a minimum of five (5) years’ relevant post-graduate experience
    • National Higher Diploma in built environment field of study with a minimum of six (6) years’ relevant post-graduate experience
    • National Diploma in built environment field of study with a minimum of seven (7) years’ relevant post-graduate experience
    • Tertiary qualification in Project Management related field of study, such as procurement, quantity surveying, engineering, architecture, planning, contracting, etc with a minimum of five (5) years' relevant post-graduate experience

    Required:

    • Registration as Candidate Professional with SACAP, OR
