    Business Development Associate Director

    Description of the role and purpose of the job:

    An experienced Business Development Associate Director, to focus on one of the firm’s top priority accounts within the Telecommunications sector and to support the lead relationship partners and account teams to drive profitable revenue growth and deliver exceptional client value. This account forms part of our Global Accounts Portfolio and has a significant global footprint. Very mature account with a good support base and significant upside potential.

    Experience working in the Telecommunications sector, or in a client facing or business development role focused within the broader TMT Sector is highly desirable. Transferable experience across other areas or sectors will also be considered. 

    Key responsibilities:

    •  Have/Build a deep understanding of the client’s priorities and strategies. Utilise this insight to create demand across multiple service lines.
    •  Facilitate and support client touch points and generate new revenue streams.
    •  Identify and build new client relationships, while protecting and maturing existing relationships between KPMG and the client to deliver opportunities and profitable growth.
    •  Support the lead relationship partner or director in building a high performing Client Service Team.
    •  Co-create and implement effective account strategies including relationship mapping, management of opportunity pipeline and generation of investment plans.
    •  Bringing discipline, structure and support to account teams through management information, market insight, knowledge sharing and meeting preparation.
    •  Working right across the pursuit process to inform, support, challenge and inspire the account team(s) to convert opportunities.

    Skills and attributes required for the role:

    Skills:

    •  Experience working in the Telecommunications sector, or in a client facing or sales/ business development role focused on the Telecommunications sector is highly desirable. Transferable experience across other sectors will also be considered.
    •  Understanding of best practice account management principles with the ability to implement both strategic and tactical initiatives.
    •  A proven track record in sales, business development and client relationship management in a highly competitive B2B environment.
    •  Strong stakeholder management and experience in working with diverse account teams.
    •  Commercial acumen both in terms of managing pipeline and challenging/coaching teams through the sales process.
    •  A strong knowledge of a sales methodology and proven experience of driving opportunities through to revenue.
    •  Experience of procurement principles is highly desirable

    •  Excellent communication skills and gravitas with senior staff stakeholders, as well as demonstrate a thorough understanding of the strategic business drivers for complex clients
    •  A proactive individual who can work effectively as part of a team, which may at times be geographically dispersed.

    L&D Tax Lead and Facilitator

    Description of the role and purpose of the job:

    Manager in Learning and Development and the purpose of the role is as follows;

    •  To support L&D team with L&D training roll out
    •  To be responsible for delivery and facilitation of Tax, Audit, Business Development (BD) and soft skills training based on business needs, as a content lead and/or facilitator
    •  To be a Business Partner for Tax and key stakeholder contact
    •  To be involved in key KPMG Tax and ESG projects impacting learning
    •  To be a performance manager within L&D
    •  To represent KPMG SA on the L&D EMA and Global Tax forums and keep abreast of occurrences in the region

    Key responsibilities:

    •  Design/Develop/Curate course content for Tax, Audit, BD and non-technical L&D courses
    •  Project manage all group/firm/BU projects and courses within portfolio throughout the year as well as submit and manage budget for each course
    •  Facilitate Tax, Audit, BD and soft skills training
    •  Alignment to ISQM1 requirements (where relevant) and processes within L&D
    •  Reporting and needs analysis for function and courses
    •  Learning Council engagement and management
    •  Consultation and engagement with stakeholders as content and function lead
    •  Function learning paths
    •  Training data analysis (uptake, effectiveness and cost reporting to business)
    •  Supporting L&D Africa Integration

    • As a minimum, you should have a keen interest in tax and business issues, have good communication skills and be capable of taking on responsibility. You have to be ready for a steep learning curve, as graduates are often assigned to project teams as soon as they join.
