    Assistant Manager Fire and Rescue.REG BLM.Fire and Rescue (Safety/Security/Environment and Quality - SEQ)(P51001)

    Key Performance Output

    The successful candidate will be reporting to the Manager Airfield Manager Services, and will be responsible but not limited to the following:

    • Manage assets replacement (with CAPEX permission) to ensure serviceability and compliance.
    • Manage maintenance schedules for vehicles and equipment.
    • Manage ARFF compliance to Safety, Health and Environmental (SHE) legislation.
    • Manage the Aerodrome Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) Department in conformance to the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) standards and recommended practices, the South African Civil Aviation Authority (SACAA) technical standards and to South African Legislation requirements.
    • Develop and ensure implementation of Recovery Plan.
    • Ensure effectiveness of response with regards to resources (equipment and people) and speed in which resources are brought into operation during emergencies, in line with ICAO standards and recommendations.
    • Implement Incident Command System to control, coordinate and communicate incidents and accidents.
    • Manage and maintain a high standard of aircraft operational safety on the airfield.
    • Continuous research and development within area of expertise to ensure international best practice.
    • Implementation of cost saving initiatives to ensure financial sustainability and provide input into allocated budget.
    • Ensure efficient contract management and escalate non-compliances.
    • Acting in role of Manager/Senior Supervisor/Supervisor when required.
    • Participate in people development initiatives such as performance management, succession planning, talent management etc. to ensure team performance meet required standards.
    • Plan, schedule, and supervise and/or coordinate subordinate activities within processes or services to achieve efficiency and quality goals.
    • Support, coach and mentor junior staff as and when required.
    • Draft, compile, implement and review contingency plan to support business continuity.
    • Conduct risk assessments to identify all potential hazards and compile finding for input into the Fire Safety Risk register.
    • Conduct inspections and patrols to reduce potential hazards and take remedial action.
    • Build, support, and maintain healthy diverse internal (peers, unions, team) as well as external (service providers etc.) relationships and implement remedial actions where required to ensure achievement of organisational goals and enhance emergency response preparedness.

    Technical Skills and Experience

    The following skills and experience or the equivalent of such will be required: 

    • Grade 12 National Senior Certificate is essential.
    • Relevant Higher Certificate in Fire and Rescue/ Emergency Services is essential (NQF 5).
    • Relevant Diploma in Fire and Rescue/ Emergency Services is recommended (NQF 6).
    • Fire Fighter level 2 and First Aid level 3 accreditations.
    • SAESI membership.
    • 04 Fire and Rescue Operational experience is essential.
    • 02 years Fire and Rescue Supervisory experience is essential.

    Key Performance Output

    The successful candidate, will be reporting to the Manager Aviation Safety & Quality Controls and will be responsible for but not limited to the following:

    • Provide input into planning process within the section and execute the approved plan in accordance with policies, procedures, and processes to ensure achievement of operational targets.
    • Adhere to and ensure adherence to statutory regulations, organisational standards, policies, and procedures.
    • Report non-compliance and implement corrective actions to ensure compliance.
    • Implement and enforce the ACSA SHEQ Enforcement Systems, Safety Management System, policies and procedures and legislative requirements.

    Key Performance Output

    The successful candidate will be reporting to Chief Procurement Officer, and will be responsible but not limited to the following:

    • Drive a focus on commercial sourcing through influencing and facilitating the development of future strategic directions of the commercial sourcing & asset disposals department. Development of a reverse logistics strategy to ensure that ACSA used assets are disposed in a transparent, cost effective, competitive and environmentally friendly manner.

    • Develop commercial strategic sourcing strategies to enable the airports commercial environment to operate effectively and efficiently.

    AMC Representative.INT ORT.Airport Operations

    Key Performance Output

    The successful candidate will be reporting to the Duty Manager AMC and will be responsible but not limited to the following:

    • Develop, implement, monitor and review airside procedures and working instructions.
    • Ensure daily operational plans are completed, review quality, critical information is communicated, and according to agreed standards. Modify plan to ensure minimal disruptions to operation
    • Ensuring daily functional operational planning schedules are available.
    • Attend and contribute to AMC meetings, provide a comprehensive end of shift handover to next AMC Representative.
    • Monitor relevant systems to detect events that may cause delays to the PBA process across the airport as a whole and communicate with other AMC representatives to ensure that any events arising in other functional areas are understood and communicated.

    Key Performance Output

    The successful candidate will be reporting to the Group Executive Commercial & Business Development and will be responsible but not limited to the following:

    • Design and implement ACSA Commercialization Framework and Partnership guidelines, this should consider and entail but not limited to; Operating models, Business model, Benchmarking, Services assessment, e-Commerce, Risk profiling, Market research and analysis, HR implications, Financial implications, Adequacy and viability reconciliation between current and new infrastructure, Technology and digitalization, Associated regulations to be considered, Stakeholder engagements and Key performance indicators.
    • Maximize revenue growth and commercial opportunities and support future sustainability of ACSA.
    • Develop a Property Development Plan parallel to Airports Precinct plans.
    • Design and implement property management reporting system.
    • Assess/review and authorize payments in line with approved budget and in line with the delegated levels of authority.
    • Provide input into workforce planning and implement approved labour plans to ensure team is suitably staffed to meet sub-functional objectives.
    • Create Stakeholder Forums for Frequent Check-Ins and gathering of intelligence input on market developments.

    Technical Skills and Experience

    • Develop pre-emptive and predictive strategy for property up-keep, maintenance and refurbishments.
    • Recommend and implement Technologies and automation to be deployed.
    • Developing a facilities business model for ACSA network, this should consider and entail but not limited to; Maintenance and Refurbishment model, Business model, Benchmarking, Standards assessment, e-Commerce, Market research and analysis, Human resource implications, Financial implications, Transition plans from current to new tenants, Technology and digitalization, facilities Security, Associated regulations to be considered, Stakeholder engagements and Key performance indicators.
    • Operability of the Commercial Property Portfolio a Maintenance and Refurbishment plan; this must include amongst others: safe hangar access and use, operations and security plan, landside access facilities, and terminal access.
    • Facilitate the maximization of revenue growth and commercial opportunities; and support future sustainability of ACSA.
    • Monitoring and reporting progress to all relevant governance structures; reports will take various forms from detailed documents to power point presentations.
