    Maintenance Technician (Concentrated Products- Humansdorp)

    Key Performance Areas:

    • Maintenance System (Pragma)
    • Perform Maintenace and Repairs
    • Optimize Plant and Process Equipment
    • Safety Compliance
    • People and Skills Development

    Knowledge and Skills:

    • qualified millwright or electrician although other suitably qualified candidates will also be considered.
    • Preferred candidates will have a minimum of 3 years' experience gained in automated food or beverages manufacturing environment.
    • Previous knowledge and experience of evaporators, sprays dryers, cheese, butter, and other food processing equipment will be advantageous.

    Maintenance Specialist - UHT/ESL Packaging

    Key Performance Areas

    • The successful candidate must be able to perform planned and breakdown maintenance duties on filling and distribution equipment.
    • This position also requires leadership skills to help lead and coach a team of technicians to achieve operational KPI targets.  
    • Due to the nature of the business this position requires working overtime and performing standby duties when necessary to meet operational requirements.
    • The jobholder will be self-driven with the ability to proactively identify and address problematic issues within and outside his area of responsibility.

    Knowledge and Skills:  

    • The successful candidate will be a qualified Millwright or hold a similar technical qualification accompanied by an Electrician Trade Certificate.  
    • Preferred candidates will have successfully completed Tetra Pak Maintenance Courses E.g. Filling and Distribution Equipment on TBA8, A3Speed, A3Flex production lines or similar FMCG equipment and ideally have maintenance and programming experience on Robot Packers/Palletizers. 
    • The candidate will have 8 years post-qualification experience with a minimum of 3 years in a supervisory position or as a senior maintenance technician, with sound knowledge of hydraulics, electrics, pneumatics, electronics, mechanics and PLC’s.

    Quality Controller

    Key Performance Areas:

    • The successful candidate will be responsible for the Microbiological testing of all incoming raw materials as well as on all final products produced and to ensure that the test results are available on time, is accurate and meet the set microbiological specifications
    • The incumbent will assist in troubleshooting in the plant and other related areas as well as in investigating and testing of consumer complaints and supplying the necessary feedback to the relevant person.
    • The incumbent will contribute to the sensory analysis of products and ingredients and assist with product development where necessary.
    • Must help to maintain and support all appropriate Quality Management Systems and ensure that all quality documentation is kept up to date and fully completed at all times.
    • Assistance will be required with Laboratory admin, capturing data, compiling reports, sending product samples to third party laboratories for testing and controlling stock and laboratory budgets.
    • The incumbent will be responsible for the required sampling and testing of all environmental sampling areas in various production areas and facilities of Woodlands Dairy.

    Knowledge and Skills:

    • The successful candidate will have a Matric certificate accompanied by a diploma/degree in Food Science or relevant similar science qualification and relevant science background and training.
    • Preferred candidates must have 1-2 years of Microbiological Laboratory working experience in FMCG environment, should be able to produce accurate and neat work, have good organizational and communication skills and be reliable.
    • The position will require overtime to be worked.
