    Electrician

    JOB PURPOSE:

    • To ensure the reliable and safe functioning of all electrical systems, equipment, and installations within the facility by performing preventative and corrective maintenance, installations, and troubleshooting. The Electrician contributes to minimizing production downtime, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and supporting continuous operations in a GMP-regulated manufacturing environment.

    MAIN TASKS / RESPONSIBILITIES: 

    Preventative and Corrective Maintenance

    • Execute daily, weekly, and monthly preventative maintenance as per approved schedules
    • Identify potential failures and proactively carry out corrective action to avoid breakdowns
    • Document all maintenance activities in job cards and maintenance management systems 

    Fault Finding and Repairs

    • Perform fault finding on complex electrical circuits, control panels, and machinery
    • Repair or replace faulty components such as sensors, relays, switches, motors, and drives
    • Troubleshoot and repair AC/DC drives and program or set drive parameters 

    PLC and Control Systems

    • Assist with the programming, setup, and modification of PLCs
    • Work with engineering teams to integrate, test, and optimize control systems

    Electro-Pneumatic and HVAC Systems

    • Repair and maintain electro-pneumatic control systems used in manufacturing equipment
    • Support the maintenance of HVAC systems where applicable, including air handlers, filters, and control circuits

    Electrical Installations and Projects

    • Perform new wiring installations and upgrades to panels and distribution boards
    • Build, test, and install control panels based on technical drawings
    • Ensure all installations comply with legal and safety requirements

    Building and Facility Electrical Systems

    • Maintain lighting systems, backup power, emergency lighting, and general facility power distribution
    • Respond to breakdowns affecting building services (e.g. lifts, gates, compressors) 

    Compliance and Safety

    • Work in accordance with OHSA, GMP, and electrical safety standards
    • Complete job risk assessments prior to tasks
    • Use proper PPE and follow safe work practices at all times

    Requirements

    • Qualifications N6 Certificate in Electrical Engineering – Essential
    • Trade Test Certificate as a Qualified Electrician or Millwright – Essential
    • Valid Wireman’s License – Advantageous
    • Additional certifications in programmable logic controllers (PLCs), HVAC, or MV systems – Advantageous Experience Minimum of 5 years' hands-on experience in electrical maintenance within a pharmaceutical, food, or beverage manufacturing environment – Essential
    • Proven experience with preventative and breakdown maintenance on production machinery and building systems
    • Practical knowledge in working with AC/DC drives, electro-pneumatics, wiring, panel building, and PLC-controlled systems
    • Experience in HVAC and Medium Voltage (MV) systems – Advantageous Other Ability and willingness to work rotational shifts, standby, and attend to emergency call-outs

    Code Compliance Evaluator

    Job Purpose

    • To review and approve promotional materials, and promotional activities and ensure that these are compliant with all the statutory laws, regulations, and guidelines as well as with the internal standards set by the company.
    • To participate in cross-functional meetings and interactions and to provide regulatory compliance support to cross-functional departments related to the relevant processes.

    Key Job Outputs

    Costing Manager

    Job Purpose

    To lead and manage the costing function across all manufacturing and supply chain units by establishing, maintaining, and enhancing accurate standard cost systems and financial controls. The role is critical in supporting operational efficiency, profitability, and strategic decision-making through reliable costing data, insightful variance analysis, proactive cost management, and accurate forecasting. The Costing Manager will also play a key role in developing cost-related policies, managing compliance, supporting CAPEX evaluations, coordinating stock counts, and partnering with cross-functional teams to drive financial performance.

    Key Job Output  

    Costing and Standard Cost Maintenance

    • Develop, implement, and maintain accurate standard costing systems for materials, labour, and overheads
    • Ensure complete and accurate bills of material (BOMs) exist for every manufactured product
    • Maintain and review standard costs for all material components, with timely updates in the ERP system
    • Ensure costing records are aligned with operational and financial data

    Variance Analysis and Cost Reporting

    • Monitor, analyse, and report on production cost variances and usage deviations
    • Identify root causes for variances and work with operations to recommend corrective actions
    • Review and present actual vs. standard cost performance reports monthly to stakeholders

    New Product Costing & Budgeting

    • Compile and review costing packs for new products, including projected costs and margin analysis
    • Collaborate with product development and operations teams for accurate cost estimates
    • Prepare annual costing budgets and submit revised standard costs to the Costing Committee for approval

    Production Cost Control & Performance Review

    • Ensure full disclosure of production costs and identify cost-saving opportunities

    CAPEX Management
    ·        Participate in the evaluation and financial analysis of capital expenditure (CAPEX) projects

    Forecasting

    Team Leadership & Development

    • Lead and manage the costing team, ensuring clarity of roles, accountability, and performance management

    Required Learning

    • Chartered Accountant (CA(SA)) or CIMA qualified (essential)

    • Postgraduate qualification in Finance, Business Management, or related field (advantageous)
    • Continuous professional development in cost accounting, ERP systems, and manufacturing finance (recommended)

    Required Experience

    • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a cost accounting role within a manufacturing or supply chain environment
    • At least 2 years in a managerial or supervisory position, leading costing or finance teams

    QA Validation Officer

    Job Purpose

    • To coordinate, execute, review and continuously improve validation, qualification activities in the analytical laboratory, ensuring compliance with current regulatory requirements (SAHPRA, PIC/S, WHO, EMA), while identifying risks and improvement opportunities. Additionally, the candidate is required to perform site QA support activities including Post Importation analysis approval and management, and general QA documentation control and issuance.
