    Commissiong Engineer (Port Elizabeth)

    Responsibilities

    Project Planning

    • Review of qualification requirements and plan for execution
    • Compile and execute the relevant Qualification protocols as per SOP.
    • Adhere to Validation practices, policies and procedures.

    Budget Control

    • Prepare a preliminary construction bill and material cost schedule to input into budget preparation for commissioning and qualification.
    • Monitor expenditure of funds against budgets.

    Stakeholder Engagement and Contracting

    • Collaborate with specialist on issues pertaining to project outcomes and controls
    • Administer contract and procurement documentation from tender stage through to project completion
    • Resolve contractual issues; escalate when required

    Planning & Process

    • Co-ordination of site activities for installation and commissioning timeline.
    • Provide technical and operational input when drafting plans

    Asset / Resource Management

    • Determine resource needs; request required assets and resources

    Technical / Functional Expertise

    • Apply advanced understanding of discipline/ specialization
    • Stay up to date on developments
    • Contribute ideas for own work area/ team

    Reporting & Record Keeping

    • Gather technical information and provide reports
    • Complete, consolidate, update and archive documents
    • Update records and systems as required

    Background/experience

    • 2-3 experience in equipment and process qualification/validation/commissioning
    • Ndip, B.Eng or Btech in Engineering.

    Occupational Health Nurse (Port Elizabeth)

    Responsibilities

    Tests & assessments

    • Conduct physical demand analysis and health risk assessments.
    • Perform the appropriate clinical measurements, observations and special testing.
    • Perform “return to work” assessments, and “sick absenteeism” assessments.

    Administration

    • Prepare and manage the monthly medical surveillance plan and update the Medical Surveillance Register monthly.
    • Assist applicants/ employees with the completion of medical/ exposure questionnaires.
    • Monitor sick certificates to identify vulnerable employees or employees with potential occupational disease or occupational aggravation of existing disease.

    Asset/ Resource management

    • Manage all medication ordered, received, stored, and issued in the clinic.
    • Request and allocate required assets and resources for the fulfilment of work objectives.
    • Monitor the use of assets and resources within own area of responsibility.

    GMP

    • Comply with GMP/ GLP requirements as outlined by company SOP’s and written instructions in all tasks and activities.
    • Ensure that products are produced, tested and stored according to the required SOP’s and documentation related to production.

    Planning & Processes

    • Manage the pre-employment, transfer, periodic, surveillance, incapacity and exit medical processes.
    • Provide technical and operational input during drafting of plans and procedures specific to unit related to production.

    Technical/ Functional expertise

    • Communicate individually through pre- and post-test counselling.
    • Analyse concepts and prepare procedures to operationalize new ideas.
    • Stay up to date on developments, trends, legislation and industry regulations within area of expertise.

    Reporting & record keeping

    • Provide information for reports on weekly/monthly basis.
    • Monitor the storage of documents on the soft and hard copy filing systems.
    • Retrieve supporting documentation and records to facilitate and support query resolution.

    Background/experience

    • 4-6 years’ experience in an occupational health clinic
    • Minimum of Bachelor's Degree/ Post Graduate Degree/ Diploma in Occupational Health
    • Registered as a Professional Nurse under Section 31 of the Nursing Act 2005
    • Certified tester for hearing, respiratory and eye screening.

    • Audiometric testing equipment handling and usage.
    • Spirometrics equipment handling and use.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

    • Matric qualification.
    • Tertiary qualification would be advantageous.
    • 1-2 years proven sales track record is essential.
    • Previous basket experience/exposure would be an advantage.
    • Valid driver’s license and own vehicle.
    • Existing relationships with key customers in the territory would be advantageous.

    Technical Manufacturer ( Port Elizabeth)

    Responsibilities

    Planning and Operational Support 

    • Oversee work or serves as a lead technical expert.
    • Optimize and facilitate implementation of current processes.
    • Identify gaps in current policies and procedures.
    • Propose changes/improvements to processes, tools, and techniques.

    • Attend to mechanical and electrical breakdowns/ repairs as needed.

    • Verify measuring equipment according to SOP and standards.

    Routine Support Tasks

    • Perform equipment pre-checks according to SOP.
    • Assist with campaign preparation.
    • Perform equipment transfers according to SOPs and standards.
    • Train new Technical Manufacturers

    Troubleshooting

    • Perform root cause analysis to identify root cause of failures.
    • Perform equipment adjustments to limit downtime; escalate major breakdowns to Engineering.
    • Raise downtime notification with Production Leader
    • Isolate and lock out machines to be set/maintained per SOP.
    • Assist Engineering in the correction of equipment problems.

    Process and System Improvements

    • Perform product and method improvement investigations.
    • Identify and execute improvement opportunities to reduce overall downtime and increase operational performance.

     Admin and Record keeping

    • Perform half-hourly inspections.
    • Attend shift meetings.
    • Complete OEE reports
    • Consolidate and analyse information; compile detailed reports.
    • Monitor and control access to and set-up of electronic databases.

    Requirements

    Background/experience

    • Trade tested Artisan with 2 to 4 years post apprenticeship experience or National Diploma with 1 to 3 years related experience.
    • Experience in production processes and operation or first line maintenance of production equipment.

     Specific job skills

    • Advanced knowledge and understanding of setting up and running high speed PLC operated production equipment, process flow and associated critical control parameters.
    • Advanced understanding of pharmaceutical manufacturing, standards, and compliance requirements
    • Ability to interpret and implement policies, processes, and objectives.
