    Head of Treasury - Isando

    Role purpose

    • Reporting directly to the local Chief Financial Officer (CFO), the jobholder is accountable for all Treasury matters within the country group. The main objectives are to assure liquidity for the business in the region, optimize legal & tax structures on local and regional level and ensure the optimal usage of financial resources; all in accordance with global guidance and local laws. Treasury ensures the optimal allocation, sourcing and management of financial resources.
    • The jobholder oversees the cash management and banking structures for Bayer in the country group. This includes improving the forex access across South East Africa, establishing banking policies, and managing relationships with commercial and central banks. The role also oversees the insurance portfolio of Bayer in the country group and comprises both global and local aspects of financial risk management. It includes regular financial reporting and planning as well as the management of dividend planning and inter-company loans.

    Key responsibilities and tasks

    • Lead all Treasury activities and ensure stable legal entity financing across South East Africa
    • Consolidate the South East Africa Treasury organization, define the scope of responsibilities, and coordinate the operations for each Country
    • Establish adequate monitoring and steering mechanisms for country-level treasury including treasury risk management. Prepare monthly and quarterly management reporting.
    • Develop and implement strategic planning for Treasury across South East Africa.
    • Responsible for all insurance-related matters across South East Africa
    • Derive and implement strategic measures to improve forex access across South East Africa
    • Engage with business leaders across Divisions to support development of business strategies with Treasury considerations. Provide business partnering across the region
    • Support potential assessments for business model changes, investments and company projects as necessary for the appropriate company decision making
    • Participate in strategic data analysis, research, and modeling for senior company leadership.
    • Leading company projects aligned with Corporate Finance Strategies
    • Building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, both internally and externally. Closely collaborate with Global Treasury team
    • Closely interact with commercial banks, central banks and other external stakeholders to support our business interests. Execute all bank agreements and maintain proper documentation.
    • Manage, develop, and mentor the staff members to greater levels of effectiveness and engagement on projects and assess performance through formal periodic reviews and informal feedback.
    • Implementation of process improvements by including new technology, documentation, controls and methodology for all markets and processes in scope
    • Coordinate and optimize finance structures and the use of financial resources, all in accordance with global guidance.
    • Coordinate along with Taxes the yearly dividends planning
    • Manage the payment process including foreign exchange payments ensuring necessary approval is obtained from the relevant Reserve Banks
    • Maintain effective control procedures over all aspects of the Treasury processes.
    • Provide support with various internal / external audits as they arise in the region.
    • Monitor the day-to-day financial operations within the company.
    • Promote the organizational culture within the Group Finance community by including change management and customer service approaches to provide high quality services.

    Experience, Skills and Qualifications

    • University degree ideally in business, economics, finance or engineering
    • Several years of professional experience in Treasury or similar fields, ideally across Sub-Sahara-Africa  
    • Proven leadership and team management experience at least 3 years.
    • Knowledge of accounting, tax and finance processes in a legal entity.
    • Knowledge of Bayer Group structure, the Business Groups and Service Divisions
    • Profound knowledge and feeling for the Business of the respective Legal Entities
    • Sufficient legal knowledge and advanced ERP / BI knowledge
    • Communications strategy and messaging skills with the ability to build long term partnerships with internal management & staff
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills, negotiating and influencing skills
    • Strong networking skills in local and international finance operations
    • Language skills: English fluently

    Customer Interaction Representative - Isando

    Role purpose

    • Execution of the best-in-class service through effective interactions with customers to ensure customers’ business needs are fulfilled and sales targets are met in partnership with the Commercial organization

    Key responsibilities and tasks

    • Interact with customers (directly and via sales team members):
    • Orchestrate the service relationship, acting as primary contact for assigned customer accounts
    • Analyze account history, understand the region’s supply needs, help make decisions to optimize orders and product deliveries
    • Provide information on orders, supply availability, timing, updates on products, programs, etc.
    • Reach out to customers for missing Customer
    • Master data information to process sales orders
    • Seek customer feedback to track satisfaction level and identify solutions to improve experience
    • Resolve any immediately addressable customer requests:
    • Receive requests from customers and sales team members via unstructured communication (phone, email, etc.)
    • Address any immediately resolvable requests (e.g. in order management - order entry, status check; in order fulfillment – scheduling, etc, ad-hoc – product returns, delivery complaints, etc).
    • Manage research, resolution, documentation and communication for complaints & errors (incl. Delivery)
    • Involve Customer Operations for resolution of non-immediately resolvable requests
    • Partner with Commercial /Supply Chain team:
    • Influence products take and delivery timing to achieve financial targets
    • Provide overall business update and customer account info (e.g. availability dates, delivery forecast, targets, progress)
    • Monitor customer prioritization, delivery forecast targets and support product allocation management
    • Conduct training sessions and influence customers to adopt new processes, tools, and systems
    • Identify and implement improvements in operational efficiency, customer experience, etc.

    Experience, Skills and Qualifications

    • BS/BA in Agriculture, Agronomy, Business, Supply Chain Mgmt, or related fields
    • 3-5 years of operational experience in Customer Service, Commercial, Logistics, Administration (Domain knowledge in agriculture and relevant products)
    • Key competencies: customer focus, results orientation, communication, collaboration, agility, relationship and conflict management, decision making
    • Knowledge of IT systems and tools, e.g. ERP, SalesForce, EDI preferred
    • Communication with empathy, organizer, coach, customer relationship management skills
    • Fluent in English and country-relevant language(s)

    QA Pharmacist - Isando

    Role purpose

    • To ensure compliance to quality requirements on release of medicine for sale in line with GMP and Bayer Policies, Directives and SOPs. 
    • Maintain the local Bayer Quality System, in line with Global Bayer Policies, Directives and SOP’s.
    • Collaborate with Local Regulatory Affairs, to ensure continuous supply of compliant medicines to our market.
    • Deputizes as Country Quality Head in the absence of the CQH

    Key responsibilities and tasks

    • Ensure adherence to the Bayer Quality System, through SOP’s, Directives, etc.
    • Ensure compliance to quality requirements on release of medicine for sale in line with GMP and Bayer Policies, Directives and SOPs, i.e., Operational responsibility for the local release of Bayer products marketed in the Southern Africa region.
    • Audit third party contractors; supports the CQH in ensuring quality oversight for 3rd party business, incl. Quality Assurance Agreements (QAAs) and GMP/GDP audits.
    • Support CQH in conducting Self-Inspections.
    • Ensures appropriate standards & processes at local warehouse, transportation, and contract manufacturing (incl. repackaging, relabeling activities, QC Laboratories) by evaluating quality systems that our suppliers, vendors and other GxP service providers follow in relation to Bayer’s requirements or the respective country quality or GMP requirements.
    • Conduct GMP / GDP Training for personnel within Bayer.
    • Collaborates with the Responsible Pharmacist and QA Manager/CQH in ensuring correct deviation management, according to global QMS (e.g., temperature deviations due to transportation)
    • Executes local change management.
    • Manages product technical complaints, counterfeits & Quality-related issues; and is part of the local Product Quality and Safety Committee of all medicines within Bayer.
    • Establish and maintain effective relationships with Bayer colleagues, healthcare professionals, third party service providers and Regulatory Authorities.
    • Perform CQH functions as required in the absence of CQH; acts as Deputy Country Quality Head.
    • Plan, coordinate and execute audit plans, in the role as Audit Program Manager, as well as Supplier Qualification activities (Database for Qualified Suppliers).
    • Carry out day to day operational functions to assist CQH with Consumer Health quality requirements.
    • Caretake Analytical Method Transfer activities between originator and local testing laboratories.

    Experience, Skills and Qualifications

    • Minimum: Pharm Degree
    • Minimum: 3 - 5 years’ experience in Quality Assurance work prior to appointment
    • Registered Pharmacist
    • Good communication skills and fluency in English
    • Organizational and administrative skills
    • Good analytical, organizing and communication skills
    • Good Computer literacy
    • Commercial awareness, good project management skills and an ability to adapt to changing priorities
    • Knowledge of national and regional pharmaceutical regulatory requirements
