KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS:

• Provide technical and functional SharePoint support to Mintek users.
• Designing, coding and implementing SharePoint applications as per documented business requirements.
• Extend SharePoint functionality, test and implement new features in a SharePoint Online environment, as well as a SharePoint 2016 on-premises environment.
• Manage code migration, document configuration changes, and monitor system performance.
• Configure and administer SharePoint and automate tasks.
• Maintain and update SharePoint Applications.
• Monitor SharePoint interfaces with other systems to ensure healthy system integration.
• Design, configure and maintain enterprise taxonomy, terms, and keywords.
• Monitor SharePoint software for any faults or problems.
• Troubleshooting SharePoint application issues and testing and debugging code.
• Perform preventative maintenance of SharePoint.
• Manage, maintain, and revise the site layouts, site content, structure settings, site hierarchy, and site collection navigation.
• Work Closely with divisions and cross-functional divisions to communicate project statuses.
• Adhere to best SharePoint practices and ICT Governance.
• Consults with management to devise the most useful ways to apply SharePoint for business goals.
• Perform monthly reporting.

Minimum requirements

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE 

• Honours degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information technology, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Computer Studies or equivalent
• 5 years minimum relevant experience

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

• Assist the Head/Divisional manager in maintaining and expanding project work from the mining/ metallurgical industry and related research agencies, in line with the Division’s current business plans, by providing competence and professional expertise and interacting with clients, collaborators, and potential partners.
• Ascertain the needs of clients and the industry and propose appropriate project work to enhance visibility and credibility through executing quality presentations and publications.
• Identify opportunities for innovation and commercialisation.
• Lead and execute projects requiring advanced technical expertise to interact with stakeholders (internal and external). This will involve extracting appropriate information to interpret mineral behaviour in processing and other environments using mineralogical inputs and writing reports.
• Enhance the competitive offering by contributing meaningfully to the technical output of the
  team.
• Train and technically mentor the group's staff to improve technical quality and turnaround times and promote innovative outcomes, thus enhancing the group's value proposition to clients and collaborators.
• Execute projects according to the schedule agreed to with the client/stakeholder, contain costs for the Division, and deliver valid conclusions with technical efficiency and professionalism.
• Comply with the internal administration requirements of Mintek and the Mineralogy Division for labour and machine time capture, business governance, professional reporting, project planning and management.
• Develop protocols/workflows for optimal operation and performance of specialised imaging equipment.
• Ensure that QES procedures are followed and project work is executed to produce valid conclusions and with maximum overall technical and financial efficiency.
• Ensure that the documentation of work and procedures is appropriately captured and produce advanced professional-level reports, publications, and conference contributions.

Minimum requirements

JOB KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:

• At least 6 years’ experience in mineral processing and data analysis directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
• Fundamental knowledge of operating in a process environment. Any experience with data analysis and research equipment is advantageous.
• Advanced knowledge of research principles and methodologies.
• Knowledge of advanced data analysis, methods, and techniques.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• PhD in a relevant scientific field relating to the Discipline (science or engineering)

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS:

• Execute projects so as to meet the time scheduling agreed to with client/stakeholder, contain costs for the Division and deliver valid conclusions with technical efficiency and professionalism.
• Comply with the internal administration requirements of Mintek and MNL with respect to labour and machine time capture, business governance, professional reporting, project planning and management.
• Develop protocols/workflows for optimal operation and performance of specialised imaging equipment
• Ensure that QES procedures are followed and project work is executed to produce valid conclusions and with maximum overall efficiency - technically and financially.
• Ensure that the documentation of work and procedures is appropriately captured and produce advanced professional level reports, publications, conference contributions

JOB KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:

• 3- 5 years or more experience in the field of data and image (2D/3D) analysis applications using commercial/open source platforms (e.g. Matlab, Python, R, Image J, VG StudioMax, Aviso, etc.).
• Coding and/or modelling experience, preferably with mineralogical/metallurgical/chemical data 
• Project management skills
• Drafting proposals to generate funding for project work
• Client relationship management
• The incumbent must be highly organised, able to multi-task and pay attention to detail, with excellent verbal and written communication skill.
