    Monitoring & Evaluation Officer

    The duties and responsibilities of the Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) Officer will include, but not limited to: 

    • Review IP monthly reports for accuracy, timeliness, and completeness; address data gaps or errors and alert managers to major issues.
    • Clean and correct raw data, maintain oversight of electronic data systems, and contribute to updating data collection tools.
    • Ensure IPs use standardized data collection tools consistently and maintain accurate paper and electronic records.
    • Conduct monthly and quarterly data verification, including extensive site visits, and provide feedback to IPs and managers.
    • Prepare IPs for external audits and verification visits, and recommend methods to improve data quality.
    • Mentor and train partners on M&E philosophy, indicators, tools, and systems; provide technical support and represent NACOSA in stakeholder engagements.
    • Deliver internal presentations on M&E materials and provide weekly, monthly, and quarterly data analysis to inform programming and funder reporting.
    • Assist managers with preparation of reports, presentations, and publications for internal and external audiences.
    • Motivate employees, support HR processes (recruitment, orientation, disciplinary, attendance), and implement performance management plans.
    • Provide training and mentoring to interns, team leaders, and M&E champions; develop improvement plans and support debriefing sessions.
    • Perform ad hoc departmental tasks, support managers in data-related meetings, and stand in for colleagues or supervisors when required.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Social Science, Public Health, or related discipline (preferred); prior relevant experience will be considered.
    • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in an M&E function, including monitoring data quality, capacity development of field staff, and coordinating teams.
    • Proficiency in English plus one other South African language (African language highly advantageous).
    • Valid driver’s license; SAMEA membership advantageous.
    • Experience using data management systems and MS Office, with proven ability to work effectively in fast-paced, high-volume environments.

    Training Administrator

    Description

    • Nacosa is seeking a highly organised, detail-oriented and proactive Training Administrator to support the successful implementation of the SEF Project. 
    • The Training Administrator will provide comprehensive administrative and coordination support for project training activities, ensuring that training programmes are effectively scheduled, participant information is accurately captured and maintained, attendance and supporting documentation are properly recorded, and training reports are submitted accurately and on time. 

    The duties and responsibilities of the Training Administrator will include, but not limited to: 

    • Administer accredited, invoiced, and online/non-accredited training programmes.
    • Maintain learner database from enrolment to certification, ensuring data integrity and verification.
    • Manage learner selection documentation, ensuring applications and supporting documents meet entry requirements.
    • Respond to learner enquiries (walk-ins, phone, email), and support learners and facilitators throughout the process.
    • Organise workshops, meetings, and functions, including logistics, invitations, and attendance confirmations.
    • Prepare agendas, take minutes, and distribute documents and correspondence as required.
    • Manage filing systems, workshop materials, and stationery stock for training sessions.
    • Capture and verify attendance on LMIS/TI database, enrol learners/organisations, and troubleshoot basic e-learning queries.
    • Coordinate with external service providers and create payment requisitions for venues, catering, courier, stationery, facilitation, moderation, and online platforms.
    • Maintain project payment tracking tool and ensure payments are up to date.
    • Compile monthly training and administrative reports, contribute to donor reporting, and provide training data analysis.
    • Perform ad hoc departmental tasks and stand in for colleagues or managers when required.

    Requirements

    • Matric certificate or equivalent NQF qualification.
    • Office/Business Administration Certificate required.

    Payroll Administrator

    Description

    • NACOSA is seeking an experienced and highly organised Payroll Administrator to support the implementation of the SEF Project. The successful candidate will be responsible for the accurate, timely and confidential administration and processing of payroll for approximately 1,075 employees/beneficiaries. The position requires strong payroll administration experience, excellent attention to detail and, importantly, hands-on experience using the Kwantu system.
    • The Payroll Administrator will work closely with the Human Resources, Finance and Project teams to ensure that all payroll information is accurately captured, verified, processed and reported in accordance with organisational policies, project requirements and applicable legislation.

    The duties and responsibilities of the Payroll Administrator will include, but not limited to:

    • Administering and processing monthly payroll for approximately 1,075 employees/beneficiaries.
    • Using Kwantu to capture, maintain, verify and process payroll and employee information.
    • Ensuring that payroll is processed accurately and within strict monthly deadlines.
    • Capturing new appointments, employee changes, salary adjustments, deductions, leave information and terminations.
    • Conducting comprehensive pre-payroll checks and validations to identify and correct discrepancies.
    • Reconciling payroll information and investigating any variances or irregularities.
    • Ensuring accurate processing of statutory deductions and payroll-related requirements.

    • NACOSA is looking for an HR Coordinator to support the effective delivery of HR services. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating a range of HR activities and processes, ensuring efficient administration, accurate record keeping, compliance with organisational policies and procedures, and effective support to employees and managers throughout the employee lifecycle.The HR Coordinator will work closely with the project team and relevant internal stakeholders to support recruitment, onboarding, employee administration, HR reporting, and other people-management processes.

    The duties and responsibilities of the Finance Intern will include, but not limited to:

    • Providing administrative and operational support to the Finance Officer.
    • Validating financial data and information captured on the Kwantu system.

    Monitoring & Evaluations Intern

    Description

    • NACOSA is looking for a (M&E) Intern to join our team as part of the SEF Project. The M&E Intern will support the Monitoring & Evaluation Officer in capturing, cleaning, verifying, and managing data for the SEF Programme.
    • This role is designed to provide practical experience in M&E practices, particularly related to data quality management, reporting, and verification processes. The intern will gain exposure to field-level implementation, national-level reporting systems, and donor reporting frameworks.

    The duties and responsibilities of the Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) Intern will include, but not limited to:

    • Capture programmatic data accurately into M&E databases (Excel or programme-specific systems) and ensure timely submission of tools from implementing teams.
    • Assist with digitizing, archiving, and maintaining organized physical and digital M&E files.
    • Support cleaning of raw data to ensure accuracy and consistency, flagging errors to the M&E Officer while following confidentiality protocols.
    • Participate in routine data verification activities, including spot checks and site visits, and help prepare verification reports under supervision.
    • Verify data against physical source documents during fieldwork.
    • Assist in compiling and formatting routine M&E reports for internal or donor use.
    • Document lessons learned or challenges from data collection and reporting activities.
    • Attend internal M&E trainings, shadow the M&E Officer, and engage in knowledge-sharing sessions to build skills.
    • Work with field teams to understand the programmatic context of data.

    Communications Intern - SEF

    Description

    • NACOSA is looking for a Communications Intern to join the Communications team as part of the Social Employment Fund (SEF) Programme.
    • The Communications Intern will support the Communications team with content development, social media, internal communications and general administrative tasks. The role will provide exposure to a wide range of communications functions while contributing to the promotion of NACOSA’s organisational work and the stories and impact of SEF community-based organisations (CBOs).

    HR Administrator - SEF

    Description

    • NACOSA is looking for an HR Administrator to provide a comprehensive human resources administrative service to all staff and the HR Team in the SEF programme, ensuring compliance with all policies and procedures while creating a welcoming and positive employee experience.
    • You’ll be an integral part of the HR function, supporting all areas including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management HR compliance and specific programme deliverables.

    The duties and responsibilities of the HR Administrator will include, but not limited to:

    • Contribute to HR strategy aligned with NACOSA’s Strategic Plan, promote organisational values, and provide HR advice.
    • Maintain and manage personnel records (contracts, leave, training), update participant trackers, verify timesheets and biometric data, and prepare weekly M&E reports.
    • Support recruitment across 24 CBOs (1075 participants): manage attrition, coordinate assessments, compile and verify contracts, communicate approvals, and oversee onboarding logistics.
    • Act as first point of contact for HR enquiries, manage IR matters (misconduct, investigations, hearings), liaise with labour consultants, and ensure proper documentation.
    • Coordinate onboarding and offboarding processes, conduct exit interviews, and compile monthly exit reports.
    • Participate in CBO, PMU, and programme meetings, providing updates on recruitment, payroll, biometrics, and attrition.
    • Compile weekly, monthly, and quarterly HR reports (EE stats, IR cases, ICAS, payroll discrepancies, recruitment gaps).
    • Promote and support employee wellness initiatives.
    • Handle general HR administration, queries, audits, filing, and document management.
    • Support payroll processing (capturing hours, verifying data, tracking backpay).

    Requirements

    • Relevant Diploma (N6) from a recognised TVET College.
    • Proficiency in English; any other official African language advantageous.
    • Minimum of 3 years’ HR Generalist experience, with required exposure to NGO-related employment programmes.
    • Experience in social employment programmes preferred.
