    Regulatory Compliance Specialist

    Purpose of role:

    • To support the regulatory compliance function by ensuring all marketing and communication materials and disclosures for CIS’s are reviewed, submitted, and maintained in line with applicable legislation (primarily BN92), while enabling efficient stakeholder coordination and regulatory engagement. Secondary focus on regulatory compliance monitoring where required and capacity allows. 

    Duties and responsibilities:

    • Reviewing all relevant marketing material pertaining to Prescient’s collective investment funds, as well as all foreign funds registered under section 65 of CISCA on Prescient’s platform, to ensure compliance with Board Notice 92 (or equivalent regulation).
    • Leveraging technical systems (including AI) to identify non-compliant disclosures, inconsistencies, or omissions and clearly communicate required changes 
    • Build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, particularly our clients (investment fund managers).
    • Ensuring that all managers are aware and kept abreast of applicable legislative requirements as they apply to them and their funds.
    • Coordinate and track submission timelines with internal teams and external managers, and ensure timely responses and submissions
    • Monitoring Prescient’s and other manager’s websites to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and industry standards.
    • Involvement with ad-hoc investment and regulatory compliance tasks and projects, as may be required.

    Required experience:

    • Experience working in financial services, or in a legal/compliance related role preferred.

    Required Qualifications:

    • Relevant tertiary qualification, for example: degree or diploma in finance/ commerce/ law (or studying towards a relevant tertiary qualification).

    • Strong aptitude for technology use and adoption
    • Proficiency in AI integration to increase productivity and reduce risk.

    Financial Accountant

    Purpose of role:

    • The Financial Accountant plays a vital role in supporting the Financial Manager and Head of Finance with monthly and annual financial reporting.
    • The Financial Accountant is responsible for preparing accurate, timely and error-free accounts in collaboration with Financial Manager and in line with monthly deadlines.
    • A key focus will be to identify opportunities to streamline processes and reduce manual effort through automation.
    • The role further involves adding value to front office teams, leadership, clients, and shareholders, upholding a high standard of excellence and service throughout.

    Duties and responsibilities:
    The Financial Accountant provides efficient and effective support to Prescient’s accounting operations and procurement functions. This role encompasses a wide range of financial responsibilities which may include but is not limited to:

    • Monthly bank statement processing and reconciliations (including credit cards).
    • Monthly client fee invoicing in terms of signed mandates and/or SLAs.
    • Cash flow management and forecasting.
    • Preparing monthly accounting journals and supporting schedules.
    • Performing account reconciliations to ensure data integrity.
    • Supporting procurement processes and banking operations in line with Group control frameworks.
    • Managing debtors and creditors to uphold financial discipline.
    • Monthly reconciliation and settlement of intercompany balances.
    • Calculating monthly Capital Adequacy Requirements.
    • Assisting with tax compliance and reporting.
    • Assisting with regulatory compliance and reporting.
    • Adhering to monthly, quarterly and annual Group and Company specific reporting requirements.
    • Cooperate with any internal audit requests and implement suggested changes where applicable.
    • Liaising with external auditors as required to ensure a smooth and effective annual audit process.
    • Contributing as a valued member of the Prescient Finance team.
    • Cross-training and knowledge sharing across the greater finance team.
    • Building and maintaining a trusted partnerships with the operating entity’s broader teams.
    • Driving continuous improvement in controls and processes to reduce risk, enhance efficiency, and identify opportunities.
    • Proactively identify opportunities to streamline financial processes and reduce manual effort through automation.
    • The role requires attention to detail, sound financial judgment, and a strong commitment to collaboration and operational excellence.

    Required experience:

    • CA (SA) with 3 years of articles experience, ideally including exposure to the financial services sector.
    • Exposure to stock broking specifically is preferable.
    • Strong Excel and SQL skills.
