Educational requirements:

• Degree in mechanical or electrical engineering (BSc or BTech) or accepted Diploma in mechanical/electrical engineering (Technical University or College)
• Or as a minimum an artisan with trade qualifications in electrical/mechanical fields.

Technical requirements:

• 5 to 10 years Facilities Management experience in retail or commercial or 5 to 10 years Engineering Maintenance/Projects experience in a factory.
• Practical hands-on knowledge of electrical and mechanical infrastructure and the maintenance thereof including project management principles and operations experience.

Skills required:

• Quality/standards awareness and implementation, basic contract management, coordination skills, business writing skills, financial/numeracy skills, computer literacy-MS Office (Word, Excel and Outlook), driver’s license, people management/leadership skills.

Experience / Education:                                                                                                   

• At least 5 years experience in the property / centre management industry. Minimum qualification Grade 12. A Business (marketing) or a property related tertiary qualification or equivalent relevant experience.

Skills required:                                                                                           

• People Management; Budgeting and Financial Management; IT Literacy – MS Office, MS Excel, Nicor and/or SAP, database; Proptools, Planning, Co-ordination and Organizing; Networking; Presentation skills; Drivers License and own vehicle.

Knowledge required:                                                                                       

• Advanced Property / Centre management; Technical knowledge; Contract management; Financial management; In-depth knowledge of lease agreements; Understanding of cost budgeting; relevant Statutory requirements; Common law principles applicable to leasing; relevant sections of Labour Relations Act (1994); Debt Collectors Act (1998)
