Description

• Perform the job as outlined in the work order and as per the detailed task list.
• Capture history and complete the notification to the required standard.
• Confirm work order with the correct time and details to the required standard.
• Provide feedback to the Maintenance Supervisor on any tasks where there is a difference between the task instruction and the job requirements
• Communicate if spares, equipment or other factors were not available for the job on the work order and to the Maintenance Supervisor.
• Conduct fault finding on defective equipment where required.
• Ensure adherence to health and safety, environment, quality and housekeeping in section
• Apply fault-finding techniques, conduct root cause failure analysis and regular plant inspections
• Maintain and repair mechanical parts, components and equipment
• Comply with (Occupational Health and Safety Act) OHSA and (Mine Health and Safety Act) MHSA standards, ensure that installations comply with statutory regulations, conform to safety standards and planned maintenance system requirements
• Attend to brake-down effectively and safely.
• Ensure availability of spares by adhering to the Rotables procedure where applicable.
• Comply with Health and Safety Regulations as per Barberton Mines’s Organizational

Requirements

• Grade 12 Certificate
• Qualified with trade papers (Section 13 or 26D)
• At least 5 years of Fitter experience on Mine Winders will be advantageous
• Own Transport as the position requires standby
• Valid certificate of physical fitness
• Ability to read and write in English
• Be able to work shifts and call-outs

• Code 8 Drivers License
• Minimum 5 years Diesel Mechanic experience
• Experience working on Trackless Mobile Machinery including LHD’s
• Welding experience
• Own Transport as position requires standby
• Valid certificate of physical fitness
• Ability to read and write in English

Requirements

• Inspect vehicle engines and mechanical / electrical components to diagnose issues accurately
• Quality control of repairs
• Attend to breakdowns electrical and mechanical fault finding
• Monitor and instruct outside service providers performing repairs
• Carrying out routine inspections
• Do planned and unplanned maintenance
• Detect Mechanical and Electrical Faults
• Perform checks on a regular basis and detects possible faults
• Improvises necessary solutions as and when needed
