    Business Execution, South Africa

    Responsibilities:

    Client Focus and Business Growth:

    • Lead client-focused strategic initiatives on behalf of the CCO and Banking Head to enable business growth.
    • Work in partnership with other members of the country leadership team and the CCO and Banking Head to identify and lead business initiatives that enable business growth. These will include People and Talent, Client Experience and other strategic initiatives.
    • Ensure strategic programs and initiatives in the country and Legal Entity are managed in the most effective manner, are reported to the appropriate forums and are successfully delivered.
    • Support CCO and Banking Head in implementing and running a streamlined and effective Legal Entity governance model, including the South Africa Board.
    • Ensure that Legal Entity governance model adheres to local laws and requirements and is in line with Citi’s policies.
    • Support the CCO and Banking Head in monitoring the performance of the franchise against the defined and agreed Scorecard.  Drive accountability within the franchise to deliver against set targets.
    • Enable effective connectivity of the Legal Entity governance to the MEA cluster governance by escalating any material items in a timely manner.
    • Promote connectivity with the country and Legal entity by partnering with the businesses and functions in the most effective manner.
    • Coordinate Regulatory matters for the Legal Entity, ensuring that all regulatory related activity (changes, engagement, advocacy) has an owner and drive accountability to achieve the desired outcome.
    • Coordinate business reviews of the franchise, the annual planning cycle and expense management.
    • Participate and/or coordinate implementation of assigned initiatives within the Transformation programs.

    Risk and Controls:            

    • Support the CCO and Banking Head to promote a culture of proactive controls, and drive accountability.
    • Ensure the Legal Entity governance effectively addresses all risk stripes (Financial and non-Financial risk) in line with Citi’s policies and standards, and local requirements.
    • Ensure proactive and effective use of MCA to test and enhance the control environment of the Legal Entity.
    • Ensure Issue Management best practices are adopted to identify, own and manage issues in the country and Legal Entity.
    • Coordinate escalations of any potential Issue re-targets, re-opens, and target dates at risk to secure timely support for remediation efforts.
    • Ensure effective management of Operational Risk controls, issues, remediation efforts and controls enhancements. This includes Third Party Management and Data Governance matters.
    • Ensure effective management of Compliance Risk controls, issues, remediation efforts and controls enhancements, including AML, Sanctions.  
    • Ensure effective management of Financial Risks, including oversight of ICAAP process on behalf of the CCO and Banking Head.
    • Audit Management and independent review coordination in conjunction with ICRM.

    Legal Entity Management:

    Qualifications:

    • At least 10 years of experience in the Financial Services Industry, preferably with experience in business/product management, enterprise risk management, consulting, and/or program management.
    • Citi-specific knowledge is a plus.
    • Graduate/ Postgraduate degree in Business Administration or related field.
    • Well versed in risk management and corporate governance concepts.  Experience in running effective governance a plus.
    • General understanding of financial institutions framework and applicable regulation.

    NB: Exceptional candidates without this level of experience will be considered

    • Excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to build and maintain professional working relationships across geographies and corporate functions. Ability to manage through influence (e.g. in the absence of reporting lines or matrix reporting). Effective negotiation skills.

    Markets DevOps Analyst

    Job Description:

    • The DevOps Analyst is an intermediate level position responsible for participation in the establishment, implementation and support of new or revised applications and programs in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to contribute to applications systems analysis and production stability activities.

    Responsibilities:

    • Conduct tasks related to feasibility studies, time and cost estimates, IT planning and risk technology to meet specific business needs or user areas. Participate in application releases, from development, testing and deployment into production.
    • Act as a liaison between users/traders, interfacing internal technology groups and vendors.

    Finance CRO Legal Entity Risk Manager

    In this role, you’re expected to:

    • Oversee the design, development, delivery and maintenance of best-in-class Risk Management programs, policies and practices and sets strategic direction with focus on Liquidity Risk, Interest Rate Risk (IRRBB), Investments and Capital Risk to ensure adherence to Citi’s policies and regulatory requirements.
    • Work with Middle East and Africa Cluster Head as well as other Finance CRO clusters, global risk teams and seniors to ensure best in class risk activities.
    • Front senior regulators on key legal entity related asset-liability management matters to ensure responsible risk taking in line with internal risk appetite standards and prudential requirements.
    • Liaise with the global and specialist teams to facilitate consistency, standardization and completeness of controls and challenges of identification so that all processes and their controls are supported by the required documentation and evidence (including credible and effective challenges)
    • Provide oversight and guidance over the assessment of broad complex issues, structures potential solutions and drives effective resolution with other senior stakeholders.
    • Drive Global Risk projects to improve accuracy of Risk assessment and implementing these across the country / entity / cluster or region. 
    • Review and approve local risk framework, as well as monitor compliance with risk limits/triggers. Interact with other key risk seniors across the clusters and globe (Market Risk, Credit Risk, Operational Risk) and relevant Finance and Reporting teams to improve accuracy of regulatory and management reporting.
    • Establish professional relationships with relevant regulatory bodies and represents Citi on critical regulatory matters as required.
    • Serve as liaison with regulatory examiners, Internal Audit, and external auditors on critical Risk issues and oversees the implementation of related remediation.
    • Conduct analysis and provide challenge and oversight for Risk Appetite Statements, Stress Testing and other ad-hoc regulatory or legal entity governance projects drawing in appropriate resources as required.
    • Oversee and drive compliance with local regulatory requirements including Supervisory Outlier Test for EVS and liquidity regulatory ratios
    • Escalate any issues with appropriate suggested mitigations
    • Participate in new product approval reviews to ensure novel offerings, business launches, and complex products are in line with standards outlined in Citi’s risk policies
    • Participate with voting rights in senior governance forums 
    • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

    As a successful candidate, you’d ideally have the following skills and exposure:

    • Degree in Finance/Quantitative discipline. Postgraduate degree in a quantitative or financial discipline would be preferred
    • 10+ years relevant experience within risk management, treasury, or support functions with exposure to balance sheet, financial products, financial/risk analysis
    • Prior work experience in the material entities and or regional markets
    • Expert knowledge of treasury, market risk, liquidity management, and derivative products
    • Subject Matter Expert in asset-liability management, financial instruments, risk metrics and Risk Management 
    • Ability to interact with auditors / regulators and understanding of applicable best practice guidelines and regulations. Up-to-date working knowledge of regulatory requirements and change, specifically those from Basel and local regulatory authorities (desirable)
    • Expert analytical, technical, and quantitative skills
    • Ability to influence and lead people across cultures at a senior level using sound judgment and successful execution, understanding how to operate effectively across diverse businesses
    • Business acumen to interact with partners in Risk, Treasury, Markets, and other support Functions
    • Articulate and effective communicator, both orally and in writing, with an energetic, charismatic, and approachable style.
