Key Performance Area
Health, Safety And Environmental Management
- Contribute towards Establishing, implement and maintain a ADC HSE Management System
- Review, maintain and develop action plans in accordance with accepted standard(s) and operational Requirements
- Remain conversant with HSE legislation and other requirements applicable to HSE aspects of the organisation
- Ensure that standards, procedures and operational controls are complied with on a day-to day basis.
- Obtain information and populate HSE Documents and Data information sheets per ADC HSEW Management System
- Assist and ensure that ADC operational & infrastructure teams are equipped with an updated Safety file(s) inline with ADC safety standards as well as clients requirements where applicable
Contractor Management
- Perform Monthly reporting of Contractor HSE performance, incidents and non-conformances
- Contribute towards Evaluating and vetting of new and existing contractors, annually and when required
- Follow-up on the Non- Conformance reports to non-compliant contractors
- Manage and Enforce contractor compliance to ADC HSE specifications and client HSE requirements
- Ensure that Contractors are audited monthly and obtain minimum average of 85% compliance rating
Occupational Health And Safety
- Ensure preventive, periodic and emergency maintenance of fire protection equipment and alarm systems
- Ensure the completion of electrical, HVAC, water, illumination registers
- Update organograms first-aid and emergency teams to ensure adherence to the company's emergency plans and evacuation procedures.
- Conduct Emergency Response Team Training
Environmental Management
- Represent HSE on regional level with the certifications of ISO standards,
- Conduct Environmental awareness training on contractors and staff
- Ensure contractors Waste Management programs are in place and that waste is disposed of in a correct manner
- Manage waste disposal and recycle are done on the region
Wellness
- Assist with the implementation of Wellness programs.
- Monitor absenteeism and recommend mitigation measures
Requirements
Formal Qualifications Required
- Incident investigator and Risk assessor training
- SAMTRAC or NEBOSH International General Certificate (NQF 5)
- Senior School Certificate
Job Related Experience Required
- Minimum 3-5 years experience in Safety, Health and Environmental Management System experience
- Minimum 3-5 years experience in HSE Officer position held in a medium to large construction environment

Key Performance Area
IT Hardware, Software and Network Deployment
- Install and configure new IT equipment, including end user equipment and devices
- Ensure that Active Directory administration gets all info regarding entry and exit of employees

IT Operations
- Carry out daily system support and patch management of all IT systems
- Keep track of applications loaded on end user equipment, and licence compliance
- Adhere to ADC processes for the decommissioning of IT equipment
IT Monitoring and Reporting
- Monitor switches and servers for availability, and ensure that labelling is correct and currentAssist with collecting data for weekly performance management reports
- Perform monthly tracking of operational efficiency to show progress
IT Support
- Diagnose and resolve software and hardware incidents across a range of applications
- Provide desktop support for all end user equipment, and applications including Office 365
General System Support
- Provide support with all audio and video conferencing in boardrooms
- Ensure first line support for phones and softphones on the site, liaising with telephony provider
Requirements
Formal Qualifications Required
- Matric
- National Diploma in IT or Computer Systems
- Relevant IT Qualifications in Technologies such as – Microsoft Windows Server, Linux, Unix, Storage, DHCP, Active Directory, Office 365
Job Related Experience Required
- 1-3 years experience in Operational IT support experience
- 1-3 years experience in the IT / Telecommunications industry implementing applications, especially in the areas of Microsoft products, End User Security, Network, ITIL Services

Key Result Areas
Mechanical Infrastructure Management
- Accountable to the Data Centre Manager for data centre Mechanical functionality and support to site Managers and MEP providers
- Accountable for Data Centre energy efficiency – ensure that the infrastructure is operated to minimize the energy consumption without compromising reliability.
- Responsible for continuous technical support for any Mechanical changes to Site configuration for Mechanical works.
Technical Support on Mechanical Infrastructure
- Responsible for quality inspection on Electrical works in any live environments ensuring that all defects and snags are identified and fixed.
- Responsible to list all defects and snags identified during construction, project completion and live operation. Ensure that all defects and snags are fixed timeously
- Responsible for technical support to operations teams and contractors with any changes to the design.
Data Centre Mechanical reassurance and sign off
- Ensuring that any changes to live environments are in line with the Operational standard and communicated to all parties involved in a project.
- Witness level 5 commissioning on development projects.
- Assist all sites on Incidents, RCA and SLD and ensure that where needed analysis is being done to high impact incidents
Standards and Documentation
- Prepare and coordinate all scenario and desk top exercises on the Mechanical installation on all sites
- Establish a system to consistently review and score OEM service delivery.
- Conduct a thorough review of critical infrastructure training programs and scenario tests.
Communication effectiveness
- Responsible for effective communications between the operations, projects and professional design teams.
- Foster open communication channels between different departments, especially Engineering.
- Responsible for customer technical support to Sales Team (Deal reviews, special requirements and Site configurations and capacities)
Operational Engineering Consistency
- Ensure that the latest Operational standards are applied on all ADC sites
- Ensure that all actions or gaps identified after incident are implemented on all sites.
- Ensured that improvement and initiatives identified on one site are replicated to all other sites. (If feasible and possible according to site constraint)
Requirements
Formal Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering
- Professionally registered
- Certified Data Centre Professional/ Certified Data Center Facilities Operations Manager
- Master’s in mechanical engineering is an added advantage
Experience
- 7 years experience in an operational mission critical environment.
- 3 years experience with Electrical project design & delivery
- 5 years experience in Data Centre design & delivery
- 3 years experience in operational engineering role
- 5 years significant Data Centre commissioning and acceptance experience
- 4-7 years working experience in occupational health and safety
