    Engineering Artisan - Instrument Technician - Polokwane Rural

    Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Monitors and benchmarks technology to ensure continuous improvement
    • Installs and commissions new equipment and systems in line with set standards.
    • Performs detailed design, device programming, configuration and calibration on equipment to the set parameters.
    • Maintains equipment and systems to optimize performance and availability.
    • Inspects/monitors equipment and systems and takes appropriate corrective action.
    • Assesses equipment and recommends for decommissioning and disposal in line with set company standards.
    • Manages and monitors stock levels to ensure availability of critical spares.
    • Collects and analyses data on the system and equipment to ensure compliance to standards.
    • Maintains records and ensures they are up-to-date and accurate.
    • Identifies, plans and executes Control & Instrumentation projects in line with accepted project management principles.
    • Consult with production teams on maintenance activities that affects production.
    • Supports the achievement of engineering availability and production performance levels.
    • Ensure that maintenance related information is recorded and reported to the relevant planning office to support the maintenance of the planned/asset maintenance system.

    Qualification Requirements:

    • Grade 12 or equivalent qualification
    • National Diploma S4 Electrical Engineering – Light Current
    • Site specific certification might be required
    • Valid driver’s Licence code B, EB or C1

    Experience & Skills Requirements:

    • Entry level up to 5 years’ experience
    • Siemens S7-400 PLC experience
    • English Language Proficiency
    • Time management skills

    Qualification Requirements

    • Bachelor’s Degree or Higher National Diploma in Metallurgy or Chemical Engineering / a Degree or National Diploma in Engineering including a Government Certificate of Competency (GCC) Mines and Works

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Interpret site objectives and needs across the business value chain to ensure the adherence to organisational objectives.
    • Responsible for business plan implementation and execution.
    • Ensure the implementation and adherence to contractual requirements.
    • Providing leadership to ensure adherence to Health, Safety and Environmental standards that exceed industry best practice and any applicable legislative / statutory requirements and all Company systems, policies, and procedures.

    Laboratory Assistants

    Duties and Responsibilities

    •  Ensure compliance with Quality Laboratory Services Health and Safety responsibilities, legal and operational requirements
    • Identify hazards and risk while performing daily tasks and take preventative measures
    • Comply with provided systems, practices, methods, standards, and procedures of the job
    • Conduct visual inspections of the work area to ensure workplace safety and good housekeeping
    • Perform routine sampling or collection of samples in operational areas
    • Perform routine preparation of samples (crushing, pulverizing, filtering, rolling, splitting and drying)
    • Perform sieve sizing analyses on samples as part of sample preparation
    • Inspection and first line fault finding of sampling equipment
    • Daily inspection, cleaning and unblocking of sampling equipment and spillages caused by sampling equipment
    • Cleaning of all laboratory equipment and instruments
    • Completing sample checklists and logging of samples on the system
    • Marking and labelling of sample tags and sample containers
    • Storing of samples according to specifications and colour codes
    • Perform all sample preparation as per Safe Work instructions to ensure accurate results to the Client and stakeholders
    • Adhere to quality requirements, verifications, calibrations, certifications of equipment

    Qualification Level

    • Grade 12

    Experience and Skills Requirements

    • Experience in sample preparation in a laboratory will be advantageous
    • Knowledge of the basic concepts of sample preparation, e.g. contamination, representative sample and integrity of a sample
    • English language proficiency
    • Time management
