    SHEQ Officer - Durban (55552)

    Job Description

    • South African Sugarcane Research Institute(SASRI) a division of the South African Sugar Association (SASA) has a permanent opportunity available for aSafety, Health, Environment and Quality (SHEQ)Officer, based in Mount Edgecombe.
    • The South African Sugarcane Research Institute (SASRI) is a world-renowned agricultural research institute dedicated to supporting the sustainability and productivity of the South African sugar industry. Our research, innovation, and technology transfer initiatives help ensure safe, sustainable, and efficient sugarcane production.
    • We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented SHEQ Officer to join our team and support the development, implementation, and monitoring of Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality (SHEQ) systems across the Institute.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Implement and maintain SHEQ management systems in line with legal, corporate, and industry standards
    • Conduct risk assessments, safety audits, incident investigations and inspections across operational and research facilities
    • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental legislation
    • Facilitate SHEQ training, awareness programmes, and incident investigations
    • Monitor and report SHEQ performance, identifying areas for continuous improvement
    • Support sustainability and environmental management initiatives
    • Collaborate with managers and supervisors to promote a culture of safety and quality

    Minimum Requirements:

    Education and Experience:

    • National Diploma or Degree in Safety Management, Environmental Science, or a related discipline
    • Minimum of 4 years' experience in a SHEQ role, preferably within research, agricultural, or manufacturing environment
    • Sound knowledge of OHS Act, ISO standards (9001, 45001) and related SHEQ regulations

    Knowledge and Skills:

    • Excellent communication, report writing, and training facilitation skills
    • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and a proactive approach
    • Driver's license is essential.

    Trade Marketing Specialist - Paarl (55519)

    Purpose:

    • To drive the planning, coordination, and execution of trade marketing campaigns across the KWV brand portfolio. The Trade Marketing Specialist will play a key role in translating brand strategies into impactful in-market activations, ensuring alignment with sales objectives and enhancing brand visibility at point of purchase

    Job Summary:

    • Develop and execute national and regional trade promotions for assigned brands
    • Collaborate with Sales, Key Accounts, and Brand teams to ensure campaign alignment and effectiveness
    • Manage the development, ordering, and distribution of promotional materials (POS)
    • Conduct in-trade assessments to evaluate execution and gather market insights
    • Measure and report on the effectiveness of trade promotions and activations
    • Leverage internal and external budgets and opportunities (BOP) to maximize impact
    • Build and maintain an integrated promotional calendar across brands
    • Align promotional activities with Key Account calendars and sales strategies
    • Present promotional plans to internal stakeholders and Key Accounts
    • Track and report on campaign implementation progress vs. targets
    • Attend trade promotions and activations to understand sales dynamics and competitor activity
    • Oversee POS inventory and ensure timely distribution to relevant channels

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Grade 12 (Matric) plus a relevant tertiary qualification in Marketing, Sales, or Business Administration
    • Minimum 5 years' experience in a Trade Marketing, Sales, or Brand Marketing role within FMCG or beverage/alcohol industries
    • Strong planning and organizational skills with a proactive mind-set
    • High attention to detail and excellent administrative capabilities
    • Fluent in English (verbal and written)
    • Proven relationship-building and stakeholder management skills
    • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
    • Valid driver's license and own reliable vehicle
