The role

• Santam Product Management is looking to recruit an Technical Analyst to provide actuarial and data analytics support for the conceptualisation, development and maintenance of client value propositions.
• This role invites a driven, technically competent and highly creative individual to help shape the future suite of Santam insurance offerings. This is a permanent opportunity based in either Western Cape or Gauteng.

What will you do?

Loyalty and Rewards

• Conceptualise, model, develop and manage a loyalty and rewards programme.
• Collaborate with group stakeholders to ensure the rewards programme aligns with the product portfolio strategy, business unit strategy and group-wide rewards strategy.

Actuarial

• Provide actuarial expertise and support to the Head of Product Strategy on all product management initiatives.
• Conduct actuarial and statistical analyses related to product pricing, reserving and risk assessment.
• Ensure compliance with relevant insurance regulations and actuarial standards.

Data Analytics

• Develop and manage a Product Management dashboard that tracks lead and lagging indicators of product utility, product performance, product competitiveness and client sentiment.
• Analyse product performance metrics, marketing campaign results and growth initiatives to inform data-driven decision making on products.
• Support product managers with insights derived from data to innovate and improve products in a manner that aligns with future market trends and the business unit strategy.

Qualification and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, or Statistics.
• Minimunm of 5+ year experience in an Actuarial/Statistic/Data Analyst role.
• Proficient in actuarial techniques including pricing, reserving, risk modelling, and statistical analysis.
• Skills in financial modelling, data manipulation, and predictive analytics to assess product and campaign effectiveness.
• Competent in designing and managing rewards programme metrics and actuarial valuation of loyalty schemes.

• We have an exciting opportunity for an Underwriting Assistant within our Liability Underwriting team at Santam Specialist Solutions.

What will make you successful in this role?

Key responsibilities:

Underwriting Assistance

• Draw monthly renewal list.
• Check claims experience.
• Send out renewal invitations / reminders.
• Follow up on invitations / renewals and secondary follow ups on new business.
• Assist with the administrative underwriting duties.
• Attend to all system processing related functions within the underwriting area.

Policy Administration

• Data capturing of policy schedules and all related documentation e.g., endorsements and facultative slips.
• All administration related to policies including raising invoices etc.

Client Liaison (Internal and External)

• Respond to queries and resolve to the satisfaction of the affected parties within the scope of authority and / or responsibility.
• Support underwriters.
• Provision of telephonic backup and answering services to the division.
• Handle credit control queries and errors
• Continuously monitor quality and accuracy of the documents and KIT records produced by the system
• Prepare for and attend meetings if and when required.

General Administration

• Handling accounts queries.
• Drawing of standard reports if and when required.
• Attend to daily administrative routine tasks in accordance with organisational standards, processes and procedures.
• Liaison with Santam finance department and brokers to resolve credit control issues and accounts issues.
• Attend to daily administrative routine tasks in accordance with organisational standards, processes and procedures.
• Attend to the typing of general correspondence if and when necessary, such as endorsements and cover letters.
• The underwriting assistant in this role also has the opportunity to learn the backend of the Pocket Underwriter to continuously improve the user experience of each broker

Qualifications & Experience

• Matric
• Insurance related qualification or current studies a preference
• Insurance related experience a preference (1-2 years)

WHAT WILL MAKE YOU SUCCESSFUL IN THE ROLE

• This exciting opportunity is available in Santam Broker Services, Survey department, which requires the successful individual who has the necessary skills and competencies to execute on the administration of the risk surveying function.
• The Survey Scheduler is tasked with managing the end-to-end administration function of the risk surveying team and delivering on critical reporting requirements as well as daily functional support

PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Managing the incoming work pools
• Allocation of Surveys and bookings of surveys
• Full understanding of the National Survey Policy
• Understanding and execution of the end-to-end survey function
• Dealing with queries from internal and external stakeholders
• Compiling reports for the survey team as well as governance functions
• Assist with the reporting of the budget deviations through the Head Surveyors
• Ad hoc support to the Head Surveyor as well their teams in the region
• Managing Travel and Accommodation Bookings
