    Technical Training Consultant - Millwright

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Training Planning & Scheduling: Develop and maintain monthly training schedules for all Electrical & Mechanical programmes.
    • Apprentice Management: Assist with trainee selection, registration, assessments, and SETA documentation.
    • Progress Monitoring: Track learner progress, verify module completions, and maintain accurate attendance records.
    • Content Development: Design practical training materials and assessments aligned with plant and trade needs.
    • Training Delivery: Facilitate both theoretical and hands-on training, including preparation for trade testing.
    • Project Coordination: Identify on-site practical projects to build real-world trainee experience.
    • Learner Support: Provide guidance, mentorship, and enforce discipline where necessary.
    • Tool & Compliance Management: Manage training tools, ensure compliance with training records, and investigate innovative learning technologies.

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Grade 12 with Mathematics and Science.
    • Recognised Trade Test Qualification as a Millwright.
    • Minimum of 3 years’ experience working as a qualified artisan in a maintenance environment.
    • Assessor and/or Moderator qualification (advantageous).
    • Experience in training facilitation (advantageous).

    Planning Manager - KwaZulu Natal

    As an Forestry Planning Manager, you will be responsible for:

    • Gather information through enumeration, field surveys, GPS work and other feedback systems and participate in regional operational projects through providing data and measurement systems.
    • Establish and measure permanent sample plots (PSP’s) to determine seasonal and longer term growth patters, as well as for growth and yield planning
    • Update maps.
    • Develop and execute the enumeration plan. Verify enumeration data through structured field checks to ensure accurate data is capture.
    • Monitor and report damage and disease within the Region, adhering to prescribed standards and procedures.
    • Report progress monthly on key statistics (areas, species, harvested and planted, damaged areas and TUP areas).
    • Compile and manage department budget.
    • Ensure that planning data/systems are aligned with other management systems such as Geographic Information System (GIS) and Title Deed System by means of routine update runs and interaction with system owners
    • Manage and develop contractors doing enumeration and GPS work.
    • Manage, mentor and develop subordinates.
    • Manage the training of staff in planning systems such as GIS and Microforest
    • Produce annual plan of operations (APO's) and 5-year Tactical Working Plans, to maintain a balanced fibre supply to the customers using planning software.
    • Produce maps as per foresters and management requests using GIS in order to assist in planning and execution of their work.

    What we are looking for:

    • Degree or Diploma in Forestry or related Science qualification
    • 5 years minimum experience in the Forest or related industry with at least 2 years in forestry planning
    • Database management experience will be advantageous
    • Good working knowledge of ArcGIS.
    • Strong computer literacy with in depth working knowledge of MS Office
    • Basic understanding of forest growth and yield modelling and measurement will be advantageous

    Checker Energy

    As a Checker Energy you will be responsible for:

    Plant Operation

    • Ensure the plant operates within required production rates and quality specifications.
    • Conduct routine checks on auxiliary equipment once per shift to verify proper functioning.
    • Report any equipment defects, process abnormalities, or deviations from standard operating conditions.
    • Oversee the safe, timely, and efficient offloading of fuel oil, acid, and caustic tankers.
    • Identify abnormal or emergency plant conditions and apply corrective actions as per BOP (Best Operating Practices).
    • Perform housekeeping duties with the team, maintaining cleanliness and order in your area of responsibility.
    • Take process samples as required to support quality and process control.

    SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment & Quality)

    • Promote a safe work environment by identifying, reporting, and assisting in managing risks.
    • Immediately report accidents, injuries, or fires to the Process Controller or Shift Superintendent.
    • Ensure compliance with all safety procedures, legal regulations, and BBS (Behavior-Based Safety) practices.

    Resource Utilisation

    • Act as Outside Operator – Energy when required to ensure operational continuity.
    • Support team development by coaching and training new employees in your area of responsibility.

    Administration

    • Accurately capture and record plant data, deviations, and notifications to enable performance tracking and process improvement.

    What are we looking for?

    • Matric (Grade 12) with maths & Physics or N3 in Pulp and Paper.
    • At least a minimum of 1 to 3 Years relevant experience in a production or manufacturing environment.

    Snr Outside Operator Fibre Line

    As a Snr Outside Operator Fibre Line #3 you will be responsible for:

    Plant Operations – Fibre Line #3

    • Take and hand over shifts efficiently, ensuring clear communication of plant status and activities.
    • Conduct pre-start-up inspections, isolate equipment when needed, and perform shutdown/start-up as per procedures.
    • Monitor, audit, and control outside operating parameters on Fibre Line #3, ensuring functionality and safety of all equipment.
    • Perform regular plant inspections using shift checklists, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions.

    Communication

    • Communicate promptly with the Senior Process Controller regarding abnormalities, delays, and operational updates.
    • Capture SAP PM notifications, complete the Work Permit book, and maintain daily checklists for accurate records.

    Shut Management 

    • Maintain and update the shut list for Fibre Line #3 equipment; record defects and notify relevant departments (Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation).

    SHEQ

    • Adhere to safety procedures and regulatory requirements; report incidents immediately and conduct risk assessments.
    • Carry out plant walkabouts, complete PJOs, and ensure compliance with 5S and BBS standards to sustain a safe work environment.

    Resources Utilisation

    • Act as relief Senior Process Controller when required; coach new employees and support team development.

    Administration

    • Accurately capture operational data, record plant deviations and equipment notifications to support performance tracking and reporting.

    Requirements:

    • S4 in Chemical Engineering or a relevant National Diploma.
    • Minimum of 1 year experience in a manufacturing environment.
    • Experience in Fibre Line #3 or Pulp and Paper processes will be an added advantage.

    Management Forester - Winterton

    As a Management Forester, you will be responsible for:

    • Build, maintain and reinforce a “predict and prevent” safety culture in all integrated operations
    • Inspect operations regularly to identify risks & ensure that timeous action (blanking & pest control, coppice management) is undertaken.
    • Plan & conduct regular field inspections to ensure that crops, through the timing of operations (weed control, pest & disease management), achieve maximum yields within cost constraints.
    • Ensure that plantations use the Fire Risk Management System (FRMS) to identify risks. Record & implement fire control procedures in order to ensure the effective protection of people, plantations and other assets from forest fires.
    • Develop a tactical plan & ensure that the annual plan of operations for both commercial and open areas comply with standards and service level agreements
    • Develop a pre-harvest plan per compartment in collaboration with the Contractor and Silviculture.
    • Conduct a risk assessment per compartment in order to mitigate potential risks.
    • Ensure that the Harvesting budget is managed effectively by ensuring sales target tons/per day is achieved.
    • Compile in conjunction with Roads Engineer, annual tactical road maintenance plan.
    • Scheduling of short-haul and loading operations to ensure rail/road transport is released on time.
    • Ensure that company assets such as buildings, villages and company houses are maintained and managed effectively according to set standards (hygiene & legal compliance) and within budget constraints.
    • Ensure that relations with communities, other internal and external stakeholders are effectively maintained and managed in order to ensure company image is upheld, risks mitigated and relationships enhanced.

    What are we looking for?

    • National Diploma in Forestry or related qualification
    • Minimum of three years relevant experience.
    • Valid driver’s license.
