ABOUT THE ROLE:

• This role is a permanent full-time position.
• As a plant Electrician, you will be responsible for routine maintenance, timely installation and where required, repair of equipment to ensure that plant related activities are executed in a safe manner, and that electrical reliability as per the requirements set forth by your line leader, are met.
• You will also be required to operate electrical equipment and test all working parts in functional area to ensure proper utilization.

Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:

• Interprets and coordinates pre-work with regards to repairs, planned and predictive maintenance;
• Accesses any area safely to perform necessary electrical maintenance on equipment;
• Performs daily safety inspections of equipment and assesses risks on equipment;
• Maintains a clean and safe worksite and accounts for the overall electrical reliability of the assigned section;
• Work independently and in a team as well as under pressure;
• Ensures the upkeep of maintenance tools and equipment;
• Coordinates activities associated with trouble-shooting and repairing maintenance equipment;
• Clear feedback to direct line Supervisor.

ABOUT YOU:

• You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:
• Must have a minimum of 3 years’ post qualify experience in electrical maintenance and installation of electrical apparatus where at least 2 year is in a mining environment.
• Interpreting of electrical schematics (Power and Control Circuits).
• Maintenance and fault finding on Allen Bradley VSD’s will be advantageous.
• Medium Voltage switchgear competence will be advantageous.
• Plant experience (substations, MCCs, transformers, motors, liquid starters, safety circuits and switchgear (VCB/ SF6) ) will be advantageous.
• MHSA knowledge/ experience will be advantageous.

Qualifications for this role are:

• Grade 12;
• N3 nated certificate;
• Electrician Trade;
• Valid drivers license.

• As a fitter, you will be responsible for timely installation, repair and maintenance of equipment to ensure that mining activities are executed in a safe manner as well as operate equipment and tests all working parts in functional area to ensure proper utilization.

Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:

• Complete hard copies of Job Cards and capture Job Cards on SAP;
• Report deviations observed during inspections to ensure proper planning prior to execution
• Interprets and coordinates pre-work about repairs, planned and predictive maintenance;
• Accesses any area safely to perform necessary maintenance on machines or equipment;
• Performs safety inspections of equipment and assesses risks on equipment;
• Maintains a clean and safe worksite;
• Ensures the upkeep of maintenance tools and equipment;
• Coordinates activities associated with trouble- shooting and repairing maintenance equipment.

ABOUT YOU:

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:

• Must have a minimum of  3 years’ experience as a qualified Fitter in a mining environment;
• In depth knowledge on inspection & repairs of pumps;
• In depth knowledge of the workings of Jaw and Cone Crushers;
• Experience in working on conveyor belts including belt replacement, bearings, gearbox, couplings etc.;
• In depth knowledge of hydraulics and hydraulic systems including static rockbreaker and apron feeder.

Qualifications for this role are:

• Grade 12 with mathematics;
• N2 technical certificate;
• Fitter trade;
• Valid drivers license.
