    Loss Prevention Lead

    • Loss Prevention Lead - To ensure Security Service provider compliance, audits and checks, and to conduct internal investigations of losses, damages QC checks.
    • This position reports to the Risk and Security Manager.

    Your responsibilities will include:

    • Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels and discrepancies to identify potential shrinkage issues.
    • Implement control measures to reduce losses due to theft, misplacement, or inaccuracies.
    • Loss Prevention: Develop and implement loss prevention strategies and policies to mitigate theft, pilferage, and unauthorized access.
    • Monitor security systems, including surveillance cameras and access control systems, to deter and detect suspicious activities.
    • Risk Assessment: Identify potential operational risks that could lead to losses. Training and Education:
    • Provide training to DC staff on loss prevention strategies. Raise awareness about security and safety best practices, encouraging a culture of vigilance and responsibility.
    • Continuous Improvement: Regularly review loss prevention and safety protocols, recommending enhancements to keep up with evolving risks.
    • Engage in continuous learning to stay updated on industry best practices and emerging trends in loss control.
    • Incident Management: Lead investigations into loss incidents, compiling evidence and conducting interviews as necessary.
    • Escalate all findings to the Risk Manager for final guidance and action.
    • Documentation and Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and detailed records of all loss prevention activities, incidents, and preventive measures taken. Ensure proper documentation for legal and compliance purposes

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's Degree or Advanced Diplomas
    • Relevant Diploma, Degree or prepared to achieve such in agreed time frame
    • 3-5 Year Experience in a Warehouse Environment
    • Advanced communication skills
    • Strong analytical problem solving skills
    • Experience of working with technology and systems used for surveillance, access control, and data analysis
    • Advanced skills in the most common MS Office applications

    Attributes required:

    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess risks, analyze data, and develop effective loss prevention strategies.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with various stakeholders and communicate safety and security policies effectively.
    • Attention to detail for conducting thorough investigations, compiling evidence, and maintaining accurate records.
    • Leadership and organizational skills to oversee loss prevention initiatives and manage emergency response procedures.
    • Familiarity with technology and systems used for surveillance, access control, and data analysis.
    • Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions under pressure
    • Proficiency in using standard office software (e.g., Microsoft Office) and any relevant security or safety management software.

    Automation Project Manager

    Who We're Looking For:

    • This position reports to the Head : Infrastructure and Automation
    • Purpose of the role: Responsible for the project management of automation and mechanisation projects within the Distribution Centres (DC’s) in the Takealot and TFS network, with reporting responsibility to the Head: Infrastructure and Automation
    • The function of the role is to evaluate technology, execute the planning, designing and implementation of new systems and automated infrastructure improvements in the DC’s from start to completion, inclusive of hand over to the operational team and distant support thereof. The responsibility will also include TFS fulfilment facilities as well as TFS clients.
    • The role is required to, on an ongoing basis, evaluate existing processes and infrastructure to ensure that maximum efficiency is extracted through improvement projects. The role manages project expenditures against budget allocation for specific projects, under the guidance of the Head: Strategy and Infrastructure.

    Key responsibilities: (What are you directly responsible to achieve within the scope of your role)

    • Designing and implementing mechanisation infrastructure to either support the business growth or bring optimization to an existing process
    • Procurement of equipment to support operations and processes
    • Ability to draft request for proposal (RFP) documents
    • Analyzing and implementing new automation within the distribution center operations, under the guidance of the Head: Strategy and Infrastructure
    • Management and control of costs for specific projects
    • Build viability study for new projects, that proves ROI based on elements that will be improved or affected by the project implementation
    • Supplier engagement and management in accordance with contractually agreed terms
    • Stakeholder engagement with Operational staff

    Minimum Required Qualification:

    • Bachelors Degree / B-Tech Engineering qualification – Mechatronic, Electrical or Mechanical
    • Previous experience in a project space in Distribution Centres, production environment or warehousing on a large scale with complex operations
    • 3-5 years Automation experience

    Skills, knowledge & abilities:

    • Excellent problem-solving skills
    • Understanding of Distribution Centre purpose, function and operation at a detail level
    • Responds quickly to changing situations and works well under pressure

    • Strong attention to detail
    • Good interpersonal skills - works well with others, able to motivate a complex team with diverse skills

    • Strong technical knowledge of systems, electrical and mechanical components
    • Excellent project management skills, both planning and document control
    • Working knowledge of complex automation projects
    • Working knowledge, and experience with, PLC implementation and programming
    • Working knowledge of industrial communication protocols and networking
    • SQL database management and querying experience
    • Process mapping experience
    • Project cost control and CAPEX budget planning
