    Marketing Manager: Premium Audio

    About the Role

    • The Marketing Manager – Premium Audio will lead the strategic planning, execution and performance management of marketing initiatives for a globally recognised premium audio brand.
    • This is a high-impact role responsible for building brand equity, driving consumer demand, increasing product visibility and delivering commercial growth across retail, e-commerce, digital and broader channel environments.
    • The Senior Marketing Manager will translate global brand strategy into locally relevant marketing programmes, ensuring that campaigns reflect the distinctive positioning, premium experience and innovation associated with the brand. The role will work closely with the brand principal, retail partners, sales teams, creative partners, media agencies and internal stakeholders to deliver integrated campaigns that create awareness, consideration, conversion and long-term customer loyalty.
    • The ideal candidate is commercially minded, digitally fluent and highly analytical, with a passion for premium brands, consumer technology, audio and exceptional customer experiences.

    Key Responsibilities

    Brand & Marketing Strategy

    • Develop and execute the annual marketing strategy and brand plan in alignment with global brand direction and Core Group's commercial objectives.
    • Act as the brand custodian and champion, ensuring all communications, campaigns, retail activations, digital content and partner-facing materials adhere to brand positioning and global guidelines.
    • Translate global brand priorities into locally relevant campaigns that resonate with South African and African consumers.
    • Identify opportunities to strengthen brand awareness, premium positioning, product consideration and market share.
    • Monitor category trends, competitor activity, consumer behaviour and market developments to identify opportunities for growth.
    • Integrated Campaign Management
    • Plan and manage integrated media strategies across Google, social media, YouTube, premium digital placements, ATL, BTL, TTL, retail, e-commerce and in-store channels.
    • Develop comprehensive campaign plans incorporating target audiences, objectives, budgets, key messages, channel strategies and timelines.
    • Lead campaign ideation, concept development, creative briefing and execution.
    • Manage internal creative briefs and creative review processes, ensuring output meets both commercial and brand requirements.
    • Brief and manage external media, creative and digital agencies.
    • Create, implement, monitor and optimise digital advertising campaigns.
    • Proactively identify opportunities to improve campaign performance and reallocate marketing investment where required.
    • Ensure marketing activity is aligned to product launches, promotional periods, seasonal trading moments and key commercial priorities.
    • Retail, Channel & E-commerce Marketing
    • Develop and execute retail and channel marketing initiatives that elevate product visibility and reinforce the premium brand experience.
    • Partner with retailers to develop impactful campaigns, activations, displays and customer engagement initiatives.
    • Support e-commerce growth through digital merchandising, product visibility, promotional campaigns, content and conversion-focused initiatives.
    • Ensure retail and e-commerce marketing activity supports sell-through and commercial targets.
    • Collaborate with sales teams to align marketing activity with account strategies, product priorities and revenue objectives.
    • Digital & Customer Marketing
    • Lead digital and social media marketing activity across relevant platforms.
    • Manage customer-facing digital communications and weekly newsletters.
    • Coordinate newsletter content with sales, retail and commercial teams, ensuring promotional offers, pricing and product messaging are aligned to customer demand.
    • Continuously optimise digital collateral, content and customer journeys based on performance data and consumer insights.
    • Support CRM journey development, reporting and optimisation.
    • Stakeholder & Agency Management
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with global brand principals and their marketing teams.
    • Manage relationships with media, creative, digital, PR and other external agencies.
    • Collaborate closely with sales, retail, e-commerce, finance, creative and senior leadership teams.
    • Provide clear and commercially focused marketing recommendations to leadership based on data, market intelligence and campaign performance.
    • Ensure stakeholders remain aligned on campaign objectives, timelines, budgets and deliverables.
    • Budget & Financial Management
    • Develop and manage annual and campaign-specific marketing budgets.
    • Monitor marketing expenditure and ensure effective allocation of investment across channels.
    • Manage financial administration and billing processes relating to above-the-line, digital and other marketing expenditure.
    • Track campaign spend against approved budgets and proactively identify variances or opportunities for optimisation.
    • Demonstrate strong commercial accountability for marketing investment and return on spend.
    • Reporting & Performance Management
    • The Senior Marketing Manager will be responsible for providing accurate, insightful and commercially relevant reporting, including:
    • Monthly advertising effectiveness reports.
    • Post-campaign performance and analysis reports.
    • Digital campaign performance reporting.
    • CRM journey reporting and optimisation.
    • Media and channel performance analysis.
    • Budget utilisation and marketing investment reporting.
    • Consumer, category and competitor insights.
    • Recommendations for campaign optimisation and future marketing activity.

    Educational Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Advertising, Business, Communications or a related field.
    • Relevant postgraduate marketing or business qualification would be advantageous.

    Experience Required

    • 7+ years' experience in marketing, brand management, product marketing or integrated campaign management.
    • Experience within premium consumer electronics, technology, audio, retail, e-commerce or FMCG is highly advantageous.
    • Proven experience managing integrated marketing campaigns across digital, social, retail, ATL, BTL and TTL channels.
    • Strong experience managing marketing budgets, agencies and multiple external partners.
    • Demonstrated experience working with international or global brands and applying global brand guidelines to local markets.
    • Experience working across retail and e-commerce environments.
    • Strong commercial and analytical understanding with the ability to link marketing activity to business performance.
    • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

    • De-escalate customer concerns and ensure appropriate issues are resolved within the same shift or within 24 hours.
    • Gather customer feedback and share relevant insights with the Store Manager.

    Lead & Develop the Sales Team

    • Motivate Sales Assistants during shifts to optimise sales performance and customer service.
    • Provide ongoing on-the-job coaching and training in product knowledge, Nintendo software titles, sales techniques, and effective pitching.
    • Ensure effective floor coverage and manage staff rotation during peak trading periods.

    Requirements:

    • Previous experience taking a senior, supervisory, key-holder, or floor-leading role will be advantageous.
    • A genuine passion for gaming and strong knowledge of Nintendo products, franchises, consoles, games, and accessories.
    • Demonstrated ability to achieve and exceed sales targets.
    • Strong understanding of upselling, cross-selling, add-on sales, and sales KPIs.
    • Confident communication and customer engagement skills.
    • Ability to coach, motivate, and influence other team members.
    • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
    • Ability to remain calm, professional, and solutions-focused when dealing with customer concerns.
    • Must be a South African citizen.
    • Must live within a reasonable commuting distance of Sandton City.
