Areas of responsibility
- Lead the implementation and management of the Africa-EU Water Partnership Project (AEWPP)
- Support implementation of other SIWI projects and develop new programmes on water infrastructure management and finance in Africa
- Support running and management of the Africa Regional Centre
Tasks
Under the overall guidance of the Director of the Africa Regional Centre, the Programme Manager will be responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of project activities in Africa that improve project preparation processes by African governments, development banks and other support facilities. The prime responsibility is as project manager of the AEWPP (see flyer describing project inception phase on the SIWI website). Specific tasks in this role include:
- Conducting analysis of the financial viability of (water) infrastructure projects in Africa;
- Developing business cases for infrastructure projects;
- Providing substantive technical inputs to enhance the financial viability and development impact of infrastructure projects;
- Overall responsibility for the management and implementation of the AEWPP; including keeping track of budgets, contracts, staff and consultants (team of 4) and reporting;
- Drafting contracts and terms of references;
- Maintaining relations with partners, stakeholders and clients;
- Delivering other project outputs as required.
In addition to the above AEWPP related tasks, the following are expected:
- Support implementation of other SIWI projects and develop proposals for new work activities;
