    Analyst Application Development (IT Software / Microsoft / Mining / Computer Sciences / SQL Server / Software Development)

    Job Description:

    The successful incumbent is accountable for maintaining and developing solutions for a specific production environment in the mining and processing divisions. This role will function as part of the development team to supply solutions that support production and continuous process improvement. Duties include working on the latest technologies from Microsoft, being innovative, understanding business processes and the production environment, and the ability to convert the knowledge to systems/solutions in such a way that it supports the organisation.
     
    Responsibilities:

    • Safety, Health & Environment: Conduct or participate in safety audits
    • Systems Development, Implementation & Management: Understand the critical aspects of the clients business  and production processes
    • Systems Maintenance: Ensure proper maintenance of systems and equipment
    • Financial: Advise on system capital requirements
    • Business Improvement: Analyse results of reviews and find ways to improve design standards, principles and best practices
    • Project Management: Managing activities required to meet objectives within set budget and timeframe
    • People Management: Lead or work in teams of people of various disciplines on business projects

    Requirements: Qualification and Skill

    • QF 7 qualification (Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma) in Electrical/Electronic/Industrial Engineering or Computer Sciences
    • At least 3 years’ experience in software development and support within an operational management systems  environment, preferably within the mining industry
    • At least 3 years’ experience in software development in a Microsoft environment: C# with a specific focus on WPF, WCF and XAML technologies. Experience in and knowledge of patterns such as MVVM, MVC, MVP, etc. Experience in and/or knowledge of structural, creational and behavioural patterns would be advantageous
    • SQL Server knowledge, with focus on the ability to design queries, views, stored procedures and functions
    • SQL Server Reporting Services with focus of the ability to translate a reporting specification into a functional report by means of Visual Studio IDE
    • Solution support experience or understanding or implementation experience in at least one of the following MES technologies: Aspentech, Wonderware, Siemens and/or GE
    • Experience in Historians, PLC’s, SCADA’s and OPC systems

    We are currently looking for a Processing Dry Screening Specialist who will be responsible for contributing to the smooth commissioning and start-up of the processing facility.  Once the facility is operational, providing input into the optimisation of the dry screening systems by working with the Process Engineering team along with contributing to the development of the process operational team’s capability via the direct coaching and training of the processing team in all aspects of dry screening.
     
    Responsibilities:

    • Active positive contribution to the commissioning of the Process Plant;
    • Develop strategies for resolving dry screening bottlenecks and inefficiencies;
    • Provide technical assistance to Process Plant operational crews for the optimisation of the circuit;
    • Work closely with Process Plant operational crews to optimise dry screening circuit performance;
    • Monitor the performance of the shift staff and coach in addressing dry screening processing deficiencies;
    • Provide dry screening specific advice and support to the shift staff;
    • Ensure appropriate upskilling of shift staff in dry screening knowledge and application of such
    • Support the implementation of quality control policies and procedures
    • Mentor and assist staff to contribute to dry screening optimisation projects within the Process Plant

    Requirements: Qualification and Skill

    • Tertiary qualification in Metallurgy and/or Process Engineering or equivalent;
