    Snr Specialist: Finance Decision Support

    Job description

    MAIN PURPOSE

    To provide the Consumer Business Unit (CBU) teams in the various market segments and sales channels with financial impact assessment on channel investment, customer investment and product launch decisions as well as post implementation reviews and on-going product and channel performance and profitability analysis.

    KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & DECISION OWNERSHIP

    • Support the CBU teams with finance investment decision analysis and adequate business challenge in the launch and on-going evaluation of products and campaigns
    • Support the CBU teams with finance investment decision analysis and adequate business challenge in the investment and remuneration of channels and sales representatives
    • Support the CBU teams with finance investment decision analysis and adequate business challenge on the allocation of acquisition and retention spend
    • Monthly financial performance review tracking
    • Production of financial modelling and input into decisioning
    • Revenue growth
    • Create positive working relations between the CBU finance team, Vodacom SA Finance and key internal CBU stakeholders e.g. Market segments, Pricing and Customer Value Management teams
    • Work collaboratively with CBU teams and Finance members to deliver requirements
    • Simplify and standardise modelling, reporting and processes wherever possible whilst ensuring that the requirements of the business are delivered
    • Look for new and innovative ways of working to strive for continual improvement
    • Support the business to make the best product decisions by providing financial guidance and challenge to CBU team members through a comprehensive financial evaluation of business proposals for new product launches, pricing changes or targeted campaigns.
    • Complete post investment appraisals to measure the performance of products/campaigns compared to business case objectives on a timely basis.
    • Ensure that the learning generated through post investment reviews is effectively shared with the relevant business unit for future proposition development
    • Support CBU FP&A team on monthly performance profitability analysis by product, segment and customers inflow – outflow, etc.
    • Provide financial advice on products considering commercial factors to CBU team to support the achievement of the financial target
    • Provide accurate and up-to-date financial models to achieve targeted A&R efficiency
    • Provide accurate and up-to-date financial models and analysis to support device investment and equipment vendor negotiations
    • Provide accurate and up to date financial models for the evaluation of channel distribution deals and commission structures
    • Prepare financial analysis and advice for ad-hoc proposals as required by sales team to support negotiations

    Education And Experience

    • Matric essential and
    • A relevant 3 year Degree in B.Commerce/B.Science, Finance, Accounting or Economic essential
    • Honours degree or equivalent – advantageous
    • Minimum Of 8 Years Relevant Working Experience Essential In
    • Business case and/or investment decision evaluation
    • Financial and business information analysis and reporting
    • Develop knowledge of key mobile communication product and devices
    • Develop knowledge of key channel and distribution agreements
    • Knowledge in complex investment appraisal
    • Financial modelling
    • Strong financial modelling skills
    • Strong analytical skills
    • Identify and assess key risks and sensitivities
    • Ability to balance complex detail with wider commercial matters
    • Action oriented / sense of urgency
    • Commercial acumen
    • Deep understanding of competitive environment
    • Intermediate SQL skills
    • SAS experience is advantageous

    Senior Specialist: Radio Planning and Op

    The base location for this role is Vodacom, Polokwane

    The G Band Senior Specialist: Radio Planning and Optimisation is responsible for providing high level technical support in the Radio Planning and Optimisation environment and to correct network quality and Radio Planning and Optimisation impacting problems

    Key Accountabilities And Decision Ownership

    • Act as team leader for the regional/county planning & optimisation team
    • Perform network optimisation for RAN network, by consulting and advising at Regional and/or County Level
    • Identification, planning and implementation of new RAN equipment features and new technology, to improve quality and to support rollout.
    • Manage higher order network element planning & configuration, including future capacity implementation and plans
    • Liaison with central and regional stakeholders and external contractors.
    • Provided Support
    • Managed various high level projects
    • Managed regional and county cost efficiencies

    Core Competencies, Knowledge And Experience

    • Good knowledge of RF antennas and systems
    • Good knowledge and experience in ATOL planning tool
    • GSM / UMTS / LTE planning and optimisation principles
    • Project Management basic knowledge
    • Exposure to UMTS / LTE planning & optimisation tools.
    • Radio environment knowledge (RF)
    • Exposure to IP fundamentals
    • Huawei Equipment Knowledge preferable

    The Ideal Candidate For This Role Will Have

    Must have technical / professional qualifications:

    • Matric (essential)
    • 3 years National Diploma or Degree in Electrical (light current) or Electronic Engineering or a SAQA accredited equivalent in a related field with at least 5 years’ experience in a Radio Planning and Optimisation environment within a telecommunications network operator
