IT Auditor - Internal Audit at Capitec Bank

Job description

Purpose of the role:

To perform independent, objective assurance and consulting activities to add value and assist Capitec Bank accomplish its objectives by bringing a systematic, disciplined approach to evaluating and improving the effectiveness of risk management control and governance processes.

Requirements:

• Grade 12
• Relevant tertiary Internal Audit qualification with a specialisation in Information Systems (i.e. ND or B.Tech Degree in Information Systems / Internal Audit; B.Comm in Commerce / Information Systems / Auditing)
• A relevant post graduate degree (i.e. Honours Degree in Commerce / Information Systems / Auditing) is preferred
• Preference will be given to one of the following (or studying towards):
• Certified Information Systems auditor (CISA)
• Certified Information manager (CISM)
• Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC)
• Certified in the Governance of Enterprise IT (CGEIT)
• Certified Internal Auditor (CIA)
• Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
• At least 3 years in an Internal Auditing environment with at least 1 years’ experience in emphasis on a complex multi-platform IT environment, with specific experience in:
• General controls, application controls review and retail banking
• Using or developing computer assisted auditing techniques (CAATs)
• Defining of control objectives to support business processes and the assessment of both system and manual controls which exist or are needed to meet the control objectives
• Using tools that support application control review
• Practical experience using Cobit 4.1 or 5 framework
• Planning and managing audit engagement
• Project management processes, methodologies, tools, controls and risks
• Completion of articles with audit firm with specialized focus on IT audit is preferred

Knowledge of:

• The internal audit and information systems audit process and standards
• GAAP and GAAS, proficiency in accounting principles and techniques in working with financial reports
• Business products, processes, policies and systems
• Management principles to recognise and evaluate the materiality and significance of deviations from good business practice
• The fundamentals of accounting, economics, commercial law, taxation, finance, quantitative methods and information technology
• IT systems and data analysis
• Frameworks (i.e. COBIT )

Understanding of:

• The core IT systems and processes in Capitec Bank.
