Senior Inventor Draughtsman at Network Recruitment

A client of mine in the Façade Industry is looking for a specialist in Inventor Software. The position is for a senior draughtsman who will apply Inventor software in the fabrication process. The company will provide training to an individual who has a strong inventor background but not necessarily experience within Façade Engineering.

Description of Responsibilities:

• Design and drafting of various projects, mainly for Unitized Curtain Walls and Façade/Roof light structures
• Focus on Architectural Modelling and Structural Modelling
• Liaison with the sales and contracts departments in establishing all details and requirements
• Liaison with Façade Engineers, Architects and the Cape Town design team, to create and refine all design concepts and detailing. Assist with the creation of a wireframe where necessary
• Review of effect of changed designs on costings for project
• Doing basic design calculations to ensure that what is being drawn is technically sound
• Liaison with the factory staff with regards to specific details to be followed
• Liaison with site staff to ensure that designs and details are being fully and correctly implemented
• Assist to source, manage and train Draughtsmen, in order to build a strong and effective drawing office with 3D Capabilities
• Development of a professional design library
• Formalising all design protocols
• Developing a proper document control system
• Gaining and developing your own skill in Façade work

Qualifications and Skills:

• 7-10 year’s experience working on Inventor Software
• A good understanding of Structural/Architectural work
• This could be seen as an industry change into commercial buildings – Training will be provided
