Main Job Purpose

The purpose and main responsibilities of the Treasury Accountant function is as follows: Cash Management; Forex cover; All Bank GL allocations; Manage relationships with Banks; Mandates and Resolutions; Governance and Controls are imbedded; Monitor Bank Account hygiene; Month End Close and accounting; Cash Flow monitoring; Interest forecast; Bank charges monitoring; SARB adherence and train users in UL; Finflex; Hedge accounting; Dividend funding; adhoc requests; bank reconciliation automation project is implemented and working effectively to ensure CG team have limited allocations to action from bank statement into general ledger

Job Summary

• Cash Management
• Monitor Group Financial transactions on a Daily Basis. This relates to cash management, bank balances etc. Prepare weekly net cash position graphs.
• Electronic Banking
• To ensure Electronic Banking Links are provided to all users within the business. Prepare all letters and collate all documentation to provide or remove user access. Maintain summary of all online users and mandated signatories.
• Bank Mandates and Resolutions
• Monitor and maintain updated bank mandates and resolutions annually.
• FICA / KYC Documents
• Collate and provide all FICA and KYC documentation as required by banks.
• Bank Accounts
• Opening / Closing of all company bank accounts. Prepare all documentation required to open or close bank accounts. Request approval from GTC to open new accounts.
• Forward Cover
• Manage the balance sheet exposure daily and prepare FX reporting template to submit to GTC twice a month.
• Month End dealing
• Month End dealing and calculation of settlement gains and losses.
• Interest
• Ensure concern interest entries are processed monthly.
• Bank Charges
• Review and summarise bank charges schedule received from CG. Request cash deposit fees breakdown from Std bank and submit this information to the overheads team.
• General Ledger
• Work with CG and OC to ensure all balance sheet and general ledger entries are accurate and ensure Treasury recons are consistently clear.
• TWC Alignment
• Align Treasury forecast with the TWC forecast ensuring the business objectives are consistently managed and all funding, TWC and business activities are considered in the Cash management short term and long term (Finflex / 5 year)
• SARB
• Assist team lead with SARB related items - applications, processing, liaising with banks and manage all SARB queries and audits to ensure continuous compliance. Ensure business is made aware of all SARB regulatory changes and effectively communicate changes and initiate system changes with IT's assistance. Implement effective ways for IBM to manage ongoing SARB applications and ensure overall management is maintained ensuring consistent compliance with SARB regulations.
• Reporting
• Month end balances, interest, cash flow actual vs forecast etc.
• Hedge Accounting
• Implement, Monitor, report, train team and self and ensure external auditors sign off compliance.

Key Requirements

• Bachelors Degree in Commerce
• SAICA or SAIPA qualification essential
• Treasury and Hedge Accounting Experience necessary
• Minimum of 3 years experience in a similar role
