    Information Technology Infrastructure Engineer

    Job description

    We are looking to hire an ambitious Infrastructure Engineer who can define, implement and manage a solution strategy and plan for our cloud hosted product as well as operational management of the company's related infrastructure solutions.

    Stanchion Payment Solutions is developing a cloud-based management tool for the payments industry and is looking to hire an ambitious Infrastructure Manager who can define, implement and manage a solution strategy and plan for the product. Own end-to-end availability and performance of the cloud platform. Work with architecture and engineering teams in implementing core infrastructure services. Infrastructure capacity management, reporting and planning.

    Role Definition:

    This key role will drive the design, deployment, integration and operational management of Stanchion’s related Infrastructure solutions whilst providing input to strategic ongoing future improvements. The Group IT Infrastructure Engineer’s role is to provide guidance to all Stanchion’s regions to ensure that each region plans, organizes, and manages their infrastructure and adheres to Stanchion’s guidelines. To this end, the Group IT Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing key IT functional areas shared across the Stanchion regions- this relates to areas such as the company’s product suites (cloud hosted product and other); includes Office 365 and associated components, centrally shared systems and architecture and ensuring that the regions adhere to the company’s policies associated to networks, backups and internet usage. The Group IT infrastructure Engineer is also responsible for Africa’s regional office infrastructure needs.

    Responsibilities:

    • Participate in the development of the company’s strategies, standards and procedures related to Infrastructure requirements. This involves developing and implementing hardware, software and security standards for our networks, central servers, central databases and equipment used by employees.
    • Develop and maintain overall backup and recovery strategy for central Business critical systems such as Stanchion’s cloud hosted product and development code repository (Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity)
    • Ensure all developed guidelines related to standard practice and IT related procedures are well documented and communicated through out Stanchion.
    • Overall responsibility for the company’s cloud hosted product operational systems, including upgrades; disaster recovery and support processes and ensuring hosting providers meet requirements and SLAs
    • Own the relationship with 3rd party software and hardware providers and ensure SLAs are in place and managed, always ensuring value for money services
    • Determine, recommend and implement hardware and software upgrades for the company’s specific applications
    • Drive continual improvements introducing new practices or services
    • Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of technical IT to ensure good practices within the group.
    • Maintain the company’s asset register as it relates to IT equipment
    • Company specific Software license management- ensuring software used throughout the group is legally procured and managed throughout the group.
    • Document changes to environment and ensure that all changes are communicated to all relevant stakeholders.

    Skills:

    • Ability to think strategically and develop | execute tactical plans to support strategy. Ability to work and deliver results in a high-stress, fast-paced environment.
    • Ability to bring clarity and make progress in uncertain situations and environments.
    • Ability to communicate technical information to a broad audience.
    • Both strategic planning and practical hands on experience in Azure, AWS, Hyper V, Windows Server, Exchange, Skype for Business, Linux, Office 365, Sharepoint, Cyberroam, VOIP, HP.
    • Strong Network Planning experience with some background in SDN, MPLS, SD-WAN and Networking Trends and Cloud solutions.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
    • Internationally Certified MCSE Cloud platform and Infrastructure or MCSA Cloud Platform, CCNA, A+, N+
    • Previous work experience with group Infrastructure technologies
