Contracting Database Administrator at Travel Counsellors

Brief Overview of the Position

Working as part of a local team servicing our Travel Counsellors. As a key role within the in-house Destination Management Company.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

• Update and maintain supplier/content database; ensuring the highest quality of accurate data for respective customers and external customers.
• End user data quality must ensure that we sell profitably at all times.
• Load contracted and non-contracted services into the database
• Update the database regularly and improve data quality
• Assist with database queries
• Understanding of rate and data concepts – rack, net, profit
• Understand the needs of the business as to how data has to be loaded and displayed
• Assist Commercial Manager with rate / product related tasks and projects
• Develop an understanding of the products by taking the initiative to attend training and workshops
• Previous experience/loading on reservations/operating system; Tourplan, preferable

Skills

Essential:

The role will be highly numerical, and will require an analytical, independent candidate with the ability to focus on his/her work, approaching given tasks with a great work ethic, a good eye for detail, and an obsession with accuracy.

Qualifications

Required :

• Matric / Grade 12
• Travel & Tourism qualification would be preferable
• Some data loading experience within the tour operating industry
• Strong working knowledge of Excel
• Tourplan knowledge and execution would be preferable
