    Store Manager

    Job description

    Do you have a flair for fashion sourced and made locally? Join our dynamic team responsible for showcasing the best in local talent of South Africa’s clothing, footwear and accessory designers.

    This position is for a Store Manager at our YDE Tygervalley Store.

    Purpose of the role:

    • To drive sales and maximize profit opportunities for the store and to ensure the sales and management team continuously aim to achieve all deliverables.
    • The Store Manager will be accountable for all members of their team within the store and this position will require you to train and coach colleagues to ensure that all company procedures and standards are adhered to. You will be expected to inspire and lead a team to deliver a high standard of customer service
    • To continually offer exceptional customer service to ensure you are maximizing sales opportunities, and ensure your team is doing the same
    • Recruit, lead and develop the branch team to consistently deliver to the company expectations on sales and service, operations and product
    • Ensure that store is visually merchandised to the highest standard
    • To maintain a high performance team through effective management of productivity, individual targets and store sales
    • Resolve customer complaints in a timely and professional manner that retains loyalty
    • Leading by example with visibility on the floor during the majority of the week
    • Responsible for IR and recruitment
    • Staff planning and scheduling
    • Day to day running of the store
    • Do follow ups on daily management reports
    • Conducting daily, weekly and monthly checklists
    • Controlling expenses

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Knowledge of current fashion is essential
    • At least 2 to 5 years fashion retail management experience essential
    • Previous experience in managing a fashion retail store is desirable

    YDE created a store for young, trendy customers of both sexes and was able to offer original, sexy, chic, expressive, edgy, and exclusive designer clothing and accessories to customers who followed both local and international trends, but were individualists who did not conform to set, or pre-defined, standards. YDE currently houses in excess of 80 local fashion designers who supply YDE outlets nationwide.

    YDE showcases the latest in South African fashion design. We work with a pool of very talented young South African designers where 95% of our merchandise is locally made.
