To assist the Occupational Hygienist to inspect, measure, evaluate and report on mine ventilation systems, flammable and toxic gas measurements and surveillance and reporting. To ensure that all ventilation conditions comply with legal and statutory requirements.
To assist the Occupational Hygiene Superintendent in inspecting, measuring, evaluating and reporting on Occupational Hygiene issues related to noise, dust and diesel particulate matters.
Ensure that legal requirements, group standards and policies are adhered to.
Identify and evaluate ventilation hazards associate with mine surface and underground working environment.
Conduct daily ventilation inspections, record findings and recommend appropriate interventions.
Assist in short term ventilation planning.
Monitoring and reporting on measures for preparedness against fires and explosives.
Conduct trouble shooting to evaluate the efficiency of the mine ventilation system, determine and locate any non-conformance, deficiencies, root cause analysis and efficiently correct those ventilation related issues by applying good ventilation techniques.
