    Business Security Risk Manager

    Job description

    • Provide advice on threats to the security of employees and Depot activities including assets, product, third party organisations, warehouses and other premises.
    • Recommend effective and appropriate security counter measures to include procedures for the prevention and detection of fraud and other forms of theft by employees, business partners, contractors and other stakeholders.
    • Provide advice to employees and contractors on the standards of security required throughout the Depot, associated offices and residential accommodation.
    • Coordinate and manage all related shift security activities - manage all activities of all security officers shifts and those of the service providers.
    • Understand and coordinate risk and crisis management processes and procedures in allocated depots including the facilitation of the risk management processes for the site management teams.
    • Understand and apply the principles involved in the protection of BAT information.
    • Ensure that significant security incidents are investigated and lessons learned are promulgated.
    • Carry out appropriate liaison and relationship building with Government Security and Law Enforcement organisations, and maintain necessary relationships to ensure support as an when is required.
    • Conduct specified assessments and inspections of the premises to ensure that all employees, contractors and equipment conform to the Depot operational and departmental functional standards.
    • Execute and control relevant administration activities in the department according to prescribed procedures to ensure availability of required information, resources and records.
    • Conduct functional training (Use of security and fire prevention equipment, application of security practices and procedures) for all employees as well as external contractors to ensure compliance with company’s operational standards.
    • Conduct investigations in a professional and ethical manner should any of the Business Standards be transgressed or breached.
    • Manage access control procedures to the premises and buildings for authorised staff to be enforced and controlled.
    • Ensure that all requests for security advice and assistance are promptly and professionally actioned throughout allocated Depots.
    • Promote the recognition of security as adding value to the business through proven success and constructive interaction and co-operation with other functions. This requires a good level of understanding of Depot/Marketing environment and of the relevent operational procedures.
    • Provide security advice and guidance to reception and guarding contract security staff.
    • Develop and execute regular training for security staff including security contractors.
    • Conduct security reviews of security processes at the depots and other premises including and those of third party business partners within the marketing, monitoring the integrity of and compliance with established security policy, procedures and best practice.
    • Produce briefing and training material on specific security subjects for presentation and to enhance security awareness at all levels.
    • Assist in providing a consolidated Loss Reports and specific security incident reports to management periodically as required.
    • Assist in the development and implementation of new security policies and procedures. Foster security awareness to ensure that personnel, reputation, business assets, operations, financial resources, intellectual property and confidential, proprietary and sensitive information are safeguarded.
    • Benchmark security on a regular basis with other BAT factories and implement Best Security practices
    • The candidate must preferably have Security, SAPS or Law Enforcement background.

    Requirements

    • Matric and related degree/qualification.
    • The candidate should be registered with PSIRA as Security officer.
    • Proven knowledge of risk assessment, evaluation and control techniques
    • Relevant Security Management Diploma (Recommendation)
    • Knowledge of court procedures and processes.
    • The candidate must be able to handle any crisis situation with ease and efficiency
    • Sound knowledge of Employee Relations
    • Sound knowledge of Civil / Labour Unrest Management
