Job description

Main purpose

The purpose of this role is to be responsible for the software development lifecycle for new and existing applications in the organization. The primary role is to administer, develop, maintain and implement policies and procedures to ensure the security and integrity of applications developed.

Key Responsibility Areas (KRAs) with Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

Conduct & Compliance

• Ensure full Complaint-status within all regards to all Governance processes as stipulated by the Business, Clients and any other appropriate Regulatory or Governing bodies
• Ensure high data-standards are repeatedly met through rigorous control mechanisms and proactive measures
• Deliver accurate user-guidelines and processes – describing data-elements (source, metadata, etc.) and process-elements

Personal Effectiveness

• Takes Ownership of the successful & proficient delivery of any assigned requests
• Deliver high-standard output in a timely manner as required by the Business
• Engage effectively with stakeholders by providing sound advice on technical issues
• Maintain a high level of Operational understanding and Business awareness

Experience Required:

Essential:

• A minimum of 3 years of working experience in Software Development with some SQL Programming.
• Technical background with: SQL and SQL Server Suite (AS, IS and RS), VB.Net, Asp.Net, MS Access, C#, Hadoop, MongoDB, NoSQL.
• Creative skills in the presentation of information in an easily assimilated form.

Experience working with:

• Web Technologies : HTML, CSS, JQuery etc.
• PHP, MySql
• Preferred
• 4-5 years of experience in Designing and Development of web applications using open source technologies
• Experience on java script based charting libraries

Job-Related Knowledge, Competencies & Skills Required

Essential:

• Subject matter expert in Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)/ Management and Compliance with the various international and domestic laws governing data usage, such as, but not limited to; POPI, General Data Protection Regulation, EU Data Protection Regulation, Intellectual Property Law – India etc.
• Design, develop, test and deploy web applications on the basis of given brief utilizing open source technologies such as HTML, Java script, CSS, ASP.net / MEAN Stack / PHP
• Design wireframes, prototypes on the basis of business requirements
• Develop application architecture and code as per approved wireframe
• Write test strategy and execute to ensure bug free application
• Deploy the application in production environment and manage and maintain development and test instance

Technical Knowledge & Skills in:

• Programming languages such as; Python, Ruby, PHP, Java, Asp.Net (Webforms,mvc), C#, IIS
• Database Management tools such as; MongoDB, MySQL, Pivotal, Teradata, NoSQL, MS SQL, MS Access

Communication skills, more specifically:

• The ability to clearly and fluently translate technical findings to a non-technical team.
• The ability to understand the needs of non-technical colleagues in order to Manage data appropriately
• Preferred
• Business acumen – a solid understanding of the BPO industry and the business problems clients are trying to solve.
• The ability to discern which problems are important to solve
• Proficiency with techniques such as data mining, optimization, support vector machines, system dynamics
• Other Specific Requirements
• Occasional Domestic Travel

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12(matric)
• Relevant tertiary qualification
• (Diploma in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Information Technology)
• Software development/ Cybersecurity Management/ Information Security and Assurance etc. fields.
