Tasks

As an Occupational Health and Safety Specialist you will be responsible to contribute for effective risk management and improving Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) performance in respective area of responsibility. Your Tasks as an Occupational Health and Safety Specialist will include the following:

• Regulatory compliance: Supports managers and employees to ensure area of responsibility is compliant with HSE standards, regulations and guidelines. Prepares safety instructions and notices and assists with relevant training.
• Risk management: Conducts HSE audits and workplace inspections to identify potential hazards and risks and highlights corrective measures required.
• Operations: Supports implementation of HSE objectives, incident investigations and root cause analyses within the respective organization.
• Continuous improvement: Collects, analyses and reports on HSE performance, identifies problems and makes suggestions to avoid repeating the problem in the future.
• Communication and engagement: Collaborates with managers and employees in order to report on, raise awareness and gain commitment for HSE initiatives and performance.

Requirements

Ideally you will have an OHS Qualification (Occupational Health and Safety) coupled with a minimum of 5 Years of onsite working experience in OHS. Your experience in working with SASOL will be preferable. Your qualification and knowledge from Oil and Gas Industry will make you an ideal fit.
