Job description

You’d be responsible for:

• Preparing monthly income statements, balance sheets and supporting schedules on the groups reporting system.
• Assisting the Financial Director with budgeting and forecasting.
• Prepare and review monthly balance reconciliations and supporting schedules.
• Monitoring revenue recognition in line with IFRS requirements and processing deferred revenue releases and accruals at month end.
• Preparing client profitability reports and share insight with the management team.
• Submitting VAT and other SARS returns as well as other relevant Government compliance submissions (e.g. PAYE, Provisional Tax, Workman’s Compensation, Stats SA submissions).
• Provide operational and strategic financial support to the MD and other senior staff in the business.
• Monitoring internal financial controls and recommending & implementing improvements.
• Preparing financial information for Exco meetings.
• Managing financial year end external audit processes.
• Monitoring and management of BBBEE suppliers. Management of the overall BBBEE scorecard alongside the HR department.

What you’ll need:

• Matric qualification essential.
• An accounting qualification is essential (e.g. CA/ACCA/CIMA etc).
• Minimum 3 years’ experience essential in an accounting/auditing role.
• Experience managing a team or direct reports.
• Excellent knowledge of accounting principles (IFRS) and procedures and implementation of internal controls, policies and procedures.
