What you'll be doing

Software Development and Product Engineering leader:

• Interpret and plan requirements from the DD Global Leadership, DD Line of Business and Services Product Management team.
• Lead the architecture and software solution design from business requirements.
• Specify required features and functions required to support requirements.
• Design and manage the Solution Build process with a focus on quality and on-time outcomes.
• Establish rigorous testing methodologies to verify the solution.
• Conduct and manage the Quality Assurance process to validate the solution.
• Plan, resource and manage new technical releases.
• Responsible for release handoff and support to the Production Operations team.
• Accountable for team outcomes.

Assist with new technology assessment:

• Identify, investigate and test new and emerging technologies that may add value to the service.
• Assist in the investigation of innovative and appropriate technology solutions to meet service needs and solve business problems.
• Identify and investigate opportunities to use emerging technologies and associated migration paths to provide cost effective, flexible and scalable solutions.
• Work with the Product Management team and provide technology leadership to drive the Product Roadmap together with key stakeholders.

Manage the team of Product Engineers and Software Developers:

• Develop clear technical definitions of all solution deliverables including milestones and project plans.
• Ensure R&D team follows documented architecture and best practices.
• Drive operational improvements and process compliance to ensure that the solution architecture and infrastructure continues to meet evolving service requirements.
• Continually enhance the strategic capabilities of the solution infrastructure to manage future business demands.
• Responsible for the day to day management of the team and leading the team to agreed outcomes.
• Lead the software developers through the whole SDLC and the product engineers through product architecture, build and validation.
• Responsible for the career and professional development of team members.
• Ability to motivate, continually develop and challenge a high performing technical team

Manage the technical planning and development of the Service:

• Think proactively towards new features, functions and technologies that can improve the Service and work with the Product Management team to assess and prioritise.
• Consider the impact of changes to existing technologies (direct/indirect) on the Service.
• Assist with the development of new cloud products/services that are cost effective and in line with the strategic direction.
• Work with other architects and stakeholders to ensure products/services meet key functional and non-functional requirements.
• Ensure that product/services meets Services strategic approach and architectural principles.
• Ensure new product/service processes are integrated with existing Services infrastructure, service management and deployment processes.
• Develop Whitepapers and thought leadership papers written on emerging technology.
• Conduct critical assessments made of external technologies impacting the existing Service (current and future).

Work Experience:

• 5 - 10 years work experience with at least 7+ years in technical roles designing, implementing and releasing technical solutions targeted at the Enterprise market. Involvement and responsibility for the development of Cloud (specifically, SaaS) services.
• Specific Experience: Involvement and responsibility for the development of Cloud (specifically, SaaS) services.
• General Qualification: IT related Tertiary Qualification is essential.
• Experience in managing technical relationships with vendor partners.
• Highly organized and proven ability to drive goals, tactical tasks and related outcomes.
