    Senior Assistant Banqueting

    Job description

    Function

    Reporting to the Banqueting Manager, the successful incumbent is expected to effectively monitor functions and events of the Banquet Department, as well as maintain the exceptional service standards expected in accordance with Marriott International Hotels Policies and Procedures

    Required Experience & Qualifications

    • A recognised 3 year qualification in Hospitality Management highly recommended
    • Minimum three to five years relevant experience in a similar position within a 5 star hotel environment
    • Exposure to IR management and disciplinary processes advantageous
    • Proficiency in Microsoft packages essential ( Word, Excel, email ) essential
    • Working knowledge of Materials Control and Micros essential
    • Ability to work within a pressurized environment
    • Ability to use Initiative and be proactive and self-driven
    • Ability to work without supervision and within a team

    Key Responsibilities

    • To act as 2IC for the Banqueting Manager, accepting all HOD functions and responsibilities in her absence.
    • To lead the operational team on the floor, effectively co-ordinating all floors and teams therein.
    • Providing support and guidance to floor team to ensure successful, smooth running functions ending in a positive guest experience.
    • Enhancing ESS scores by proactively addressing feedback and anticipating client needs.
    • Logistic Management of all resources including staffing to meet deadlines with regards to operational requirements in the most efficient way possible.
    • Effective planning, assigning and delegations of tasks to meet deadlines.
    • Ensuring that the standards of service excellence and guest satisfaction are met and maintained
    • Administration – payroll input, staff rostering, inventory control, ordering, etc
    • Comprehensive and adaptive training and development of line management and staffing.
    • Maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance of self and service areas as per company standards
    • Complete all daily duties as set out in departmental duties and requirements.
    • Any and all other reasonable tasks and duties as assigned by senior management due to operational requirements of the business as a whole.
